Tasty, healthy salad from Costco
Tried this salad (description below) yesterday at a St. Patrick's Day party and was surprised by how yummy it was. For those of us trying to eat better, this salad is loaded with cruciferous veggies----extra important for our type of cancer---AND it's good.
two thumbs up
The Eat Smart Sweet Kale salad mix includes broccoli, brussels sprouts, cabbage, kale, and chicory and a package of dried cranberries and roasted pumpkin seeds.

Thanks for sharing!
Kale is a big cancer fighting veggie.
They also sell a large bag of ground flaxseed-good for sprinkling on cereal or in smoothies!
I have been eating cream of wheat to help my iron, as well as having to take a supplement and I believe it has helped.

Hi,
This is just an fyi - Rick's onc. had once told him not to eat pumpkin seeds or sesame seeds since they can get stuck in the colon and cause further inflamation or infection.

I hope this is healthy for CC survivors. I love the Grilled Shrimp N' Spinach Salad at Applebees. I tried it at home, but I'm no chef, so I'll let them do the work. Google the recipe and check it out.

Trying to eat healthier, I had started eating pumpkin seeds (discovered I loved them) I didn't know they could be bad. Glad you said something, I'll ask my onc, but I'm betting he says to stop it.

Unless you have diverticulosis, and you spit out the shells (no, in the other direction; don’t spit into the wind), there shouldn’t be a problem eating the seeds. It’s just fiber, only tastier...
Some things do not dissolve inside us. Black pepper, corn husks, those silly trays that come with TV Dinners.... Styrofoam... sure, we’ve all ingested them while typing on the computer, but don’t overdo it.
My wife’s been eating pumpkin seeds forever, and she’s doing ok. The septic tank’s got a pumpkin growing out of it, but aside from that.....
Be well.

I didn't know about the pumpkin/sesame seeds either. Thanks for the info!
