Biopsy on Friday - can I please request Pink Bus again

I feel like I am getting greedy about hogging the Pink Bus,  but could I maybe at least request the Pink Pedicab on Friday?  I have never had a liver biopsy and could use a hand to hold.

    Liver Biopsy

What a timely post CC! I had a liver biopsy 2 weeks ago. It really was a breeze. Probably one of the least problematic of the many tests, scans, procedures, surgeries I have had these last several years.

Several days prior to the biopsy I had blood work done - specifically the PT & PTT tests. The liver is very vascular and they want to make sure that your blood is going to clot. Basically they don't want you to bleed out on their table. I also watched a YouTube video of a liver biopsy and read up about it.

On the day of the biopsy I went to the Radiology Dept. of my local hospital. I met with the interventional radiologist who was going to perform the biopsy. After that we went to the procedure room and I was given an IV. A technician did an ultrasound to locate my liver. Fentanyl and Versed were put through the IV. The skin was numbed with Lidocaine. The radiologist did his own ultrasound and then said, "Hold your breath. When you hear the click that means the sample is being taken." It took a few seconds. I had been worried that I would not be able to hold my breath long enough but I was just fine. It didn't hurt a bit. A wad of gauze was placed over the site and held in place with tape. I was then sent to a room to be observed for a couple of hours - the bleeding issue you know. After that I was discharged. My husband and I stopped for lunch on the way home. I never even had to take Tylenol afterward.

You are certainly welcome to the Pink Bus or even the Pedicab but I think you may not even need it. I will be thinking of you.

    Anything you need, Eileen

Glad to hear Irene's comforting words about her liver biopsy.  We'll all be there--whether by bus, train, plane or bike--holding your hand, giving warm hugs and thinking good thoughts.

    Hugs, Renee

I think we're ready to roll.  Irene, thanks for giving us the scoop on a liver biopsy.  I would have imagined far worse.  Who is Eileen?  Linda

    Will be there

glad that they are moving so quickly on all of it.  Still hoping for a good outcome!  Don't think we will all fit in the pedicab.  Hopefully you can keep yourself occupied until then, wish it was tomorrow for you.

    Carol

You can hail the pink bus anytime you want

We are here and not going anywhere. So with that said, what in the world is a Pedicab? Did you just

coin this phrase? I am picturing women in yellow cabs all over NYC gettin a pedicure while on route to

their destination. What a time saver... no sudden stops, aaaah you ruined it!!!

Make sure you tell us you are alright on Friday. We will hold your hand throughout it all. Heck you

may have to shake us off.

    Hugs,

    Ayse

    I'll be there!

I'm going to bring some booze so your liver will present itself front and center for the biopsy!

Seriously, Eileen, I will definitely be there with you in spirit on Friday.  I hope everything goes without a glitch.

    Thinking of you~

I will pray all goes well for you CC~ I love that the timing of your request , with an answer from Irene that was so wonderfully descriptive really shows what kind of support one can receive here~ when i read her post, it seemed to answer the unknowns. No one likes a biopsy, but I hope yours goes just as smoothly, and someone will  take you out to lunch!!

    ~~hugs, M
