Life After Cancer ~ Fun Times
Again, I know and realize, been there, done that, cancer and treatment just plain sucks, totally not fun. But soon many of you will be doing the things you love, and it'll all be worth the pain and suffering you have, are and will suffer...;
My wife doesn't care for fishing much, but she has a friend that likes it so I took her yesterday for some of my post cancer fun;
Fog was dense going into the lake with air temp in the 40's and water temp in the 60's..., burnt off quick though once the sun popped out.

Yep, same and the one, black crappie or white crappie.... Florida they are called Speckled Perch, or just Specks... Ever how you say it, they are good eatin...

I'm of course, envious
that it's warm enough for short sleeves in the morning! Two days ago I thought "yep, spring is on it's way"....today it's snowing and blowing, and colder than a well digger's butt.
I'll never forget back when I was starving to death, and seeing one of your batches of freshly caught fish.....what my mind saw, however....was breaded and fried....and mouthwatering....LOL.

I have had enough of “the just plain sucks” cancer has to offer and relish in the thought of enjoying life as I use too. I think of you as my “Poster Child” for post cancer life.
Your adventure in fishing is like a metaphor for cancer, dense fog and then sunnier days.
Do you just fillet those fish or do you have to clean them? Just wondering, I may be able to pack my own fillet knife soon (just kidding, I expect you to provide the knife).

Florida Filleting Fisherman....
I just fillet them, actually most everything... Just cut the fillets off, slide the knife between the skin and fillet, then cut the center rib bones out... Perfect piece of boneless fish every time...
You won't have to do anything other than help catch them, I'll clean them up, and fix them for you also...

Getting on with life
Could not agree more John, getting back to what makes one happy is very therapeutic for all of us " post C refugees." I am betting ready to movto from St. Louis to Austin Tx. And would love to get back into quail hunting as 1-2 hours to the south and west is some of the best bird hunting in the country. I believe having passion in something that brings one happiness is key to moving on.

Poster Child....
Yes John, you are the Poster Child for all of us here. You certainly know how to keep the positive thinking in us all. You have rubbed off on me...LOL. Kreg continues to ask me how I can stay so positive through all of this....I always mention "John".
Glad you enjoyed your day of fishing! I'm thinking we will be running for some Perch this week...you're making us hungry!!!~C

When it comes to fishing, I'm still that little blonde hair kid, bare-foot, cut-off jeans... The closer I get to the water on fishing mornings, the more anxiety builds... I just want to get there and start fishing..., LOL.
Even if I don't catch a thing, I love it...
Saturday when we were out, I saw an American Bald Eagle flying over head, several Osprey, a few big gators, several big alligator gar, caught a few chain pickerel, spotted countless species of birds....and not leaving out all of the locals in their big loud azz air boats buzzing the shorelines, LOL... Then later they park up on the local hill side just at waters edge where they party hard, and salute me with a few held high brewski's as I slide back to the ramp.
It was all awesome....

Am glad to see you are continuing with your love for fishing. You would think that being raised in an island that is about 25 miles in diameter...that it would be my first love. During our high school years, we would head to the beach on many weekends to camp out and subsist on fish. One could tell that I would not grow up to be a fisherman. As a couple of my buddies would spend hours watching their poles at night, I would be the first one to go to sleep.
I still had my breakfast since we would just jump in the water in the morning with our home made spear gun and spear enough for breakfast.

LOL, no worries...
I was on Oahu for two years, and though its around 135 miles (perimeter), I never fished once while here... I was more concerned with the ummm wildlife, flora and fawna, especially the big plants like ummm elephant, of the pakalolo variety, LOL...
I know it's nearly 135 miles around the island..., I ran in the Around the Island Relay Race....

Living well is the best revenge
A great reminder that we all had lives "BC" (Before Cancer), and that our fight with cancer caused many of us to ask if life could ever be the same again. Well, it won't. Those who are fortunate enough to survive the brutal treatments and/or surgery know that we can never go back to life BC. What we can do is get back as much of our BC life as possible--by doing as much of what we loved before cancer invaded our lives. So, make a list of things, big and small, that you want back in your life--and see how many of those things you can check off as the months and years go on. Every checked thing on your list is a message to the beast that you are a survivor.
For me, I have one biggie left to check off--being cleared to SCUBA dive again. Soon come...soon come.

Greg ~ Are those rainbows..., nice looking stringer for sure, and you can fry those suckers up whole too.... The snake was just wanting a look see of what bait, arties, flys you might have left lying around.
Mike ~ you are absolutely correct, life AC will never be the same as life BC... But we can darn well try to make it nearly the same, or just maybe even better... That's what I'm shooting for.

We are all lucky to be here after the horrible disease that stopped us in our tracks. It certainly did change our lives forever. And you are right, we can fret over what is gone from our lives or we can enjoy what we have now.
Sometimes I forget that....so thanks for the reminder !

Never tried from the phone, but.....
I do know that sometimes you can copy and past some internet photos or images directly into your posts...
But for your personal photos, it's a bit tedious, and I'm sure you could do it similarly with your cell phone.
You have to first get on to the CSN site..
Start your post or reply...
Click the small tree image, center of the menu bar just under the COMMENT:
This opens a pop-op window
click the bow to the right of Image URL
This opens another Pop-up
Click Upload (top left)
Opens a box that lets you click Browse to where your fle is stored
Navigate to the photo you want to add to your CSN library
double click the photo, and it'll add to your online CSN library
You can now actually just double click that image (in the library folder), and it'll insert it into your original pop-up box for inserting into ypur post/reply.
stick a name in the description and a title and click Insert
Now you have a photo inserted into your post/reply.
You can also play with the sizing as it has corner and side markes if you click on the photo, that lets you shring or expand the photo.
I'm sure this is pretty hard to do on a cell phone, and not sure if it would even give you an option to select a photo from your camera photos.
