Chuck's Appointment Today
We are waiting to see if a slot opens up in the Trial they are trying to get Chuck in.. they are pretty sure he qualifies at this point...We go back next Thursday for Labs and to go over any questions we have about the information they gave us today(A book) but if something happens and one does not or he does not qualify he has options not as good of ones but still options...Feeling optimistic about the chances of him getting in the trial... and hopeful...

or is it witch trial? What is he shooting for?
IPI and PD1....we have a decent chance(nothings ever certain) he will be eligble.. the waiting to find out and to see if a slot opens is the hardest part...However since it's phase 1 it means that they are rolling people in according to responses from those who already started it.. Side effects wise....We have options drug wise just in case he does not qualify for some reason.. but his Lung Mets are growing pretty fast...the HD IL2 took care of his Liver Met(for now) But his lungs nope...so it was what they called a mixed result... he suffered a "Heart Incident" during his second round of HD IL2 so they decided we should stop and not move on with it...However his heart is still strong no permenant damage as far as they can tell...it just really did not like the HD IL2...He has a good positve attitude after the rough news of the mixed reaction...we are as always hopeful.. our oldest is now on an all out campaign to make people aware of Kidney Cancer.. because so little is known about.. her hope if in a few years..when someone like her Dad is diagnosed they have more positive options...But like they told Chuck last July... it's a good time to be diagnosed with Kidney Cancer...10 or even 5 years ago.. there were less options available to those with Metistatic Kidney Disease...PD1 seems to be the next great hope...

I assume you know that I have had remarkable results over the past year from anti PD1. I had multiple lung mets last year which are no longer present. Nor are my lymph node mets ,or my liver mets...........only some spine and rib mets are left. I get my latest scan results this weds. march 20th, and hope for good news as the pain I have had seems to be missing. Good luck Chuck, and get a thrill April!

Yup and that plus all the reading about both PD 1 and IPI we have done... made us very very happy when we did not have to bring it up.. the Doctor did... Chuck and I both know we were very blessed by first the Urological Oncologist who we ended up seeing and the fact that he was one of those Doctors who on their own bring other Oncologist on board...right at the start... the reading we have been doing shows us how rare that actually is...I call it a blessing because it really was just dumb luck and the fact the Doctors at the Hospital our oldest daughter works in..had not heard of the other 2 options we had to go too..because we were given 3 options...as far as Hospitals go.. back in July..
We hope your scans come back amazing on Wed.. Hugggsss
