Anybody out there choose no treatment?

My husband has been recently diagnosed with duodenal cancer with liver mets.  In short, the surgeries, chemos and radiations prescribed seem to offer a 4 to 36 month survival rate.  We are seriously considering doing nothing more than a blood transfusion and taking our chances with mother nature.  He feels fine right now and would like to think that he could do this better than the side effects of typical treatments.  Any thoughts out there?  Would love to hear from someone who has this cancer and what type of treatments and success thereof.  Thanks!

    No treatment

    I have stage 4 appendix cancer, signet ring cell--rare and aggressive.  January 2011 prognosis following surgery was 6-9 months with no treatment, 18-24 months with chemo. I have had no treatment. Did a lot of research on alternative options, changed diet, supplements,etc.  Last scan showed "minimal growth".

    No treatment!

    Thank you for sharing your story with me.  It's reassuring to know that chemo and radiation are not the only options, especially with aggressive cancers.  My husband watched his mother go through two years of surgery , chemo and radiation, and then watched her die.  Sometimes wonder if it is worth all of the illness to just die anyway.  Hopefully we will continue with his diet and get a transfusion.  Thanks again.  J
