in Uterine/Endometrial Cancer #1

im 46 years old i had cancer and had a full hysterectamy and am now doin 6 rounds of radiation and have 5 left to do now and i have a lot of pressure down there is this normal oh yea im doing the enternal radiation can someone help me please

    Hi Vickiann!

    I don't know if I can be of help since i just had my hysterectomy on 1/28/13 and did not require further treatment, but I have had pressure since the surgery. First it was probably due to a UTI, but I have also learned it can be related to a spastic bladder from all the moving around done during the surgery. On the Hystersisters site they mention this problem alot.

    Some of the members on this site should be able to tell you if the pressure you are experiencing is due to the radiation treatments.

    vickiann38, I had 25 external and 3 internal treatments of radiation and don't recall that kind of feeling but ANYTIME something didn't seem right I picked up the phone and called my gynecological oncoligist's office and asked.  Radiation freaked me out WAY more than chemo, and the long-term side effects are something to always watch, so I would recommend calling immediately.
