Supplement insurance with Social Security
Fairly certain that I won't be returning to work after my NHL. I am 65 so I will have Medicare, but know that I will need additional insurance. Can anyone suggest a good and affordable program? Thanks! Carol

Hi Carol,
In PennsylvaniaHi Carol,
In Pennsylvania there is a program called APPRISE. Counselors with go over your unique health circumstances and rx's and help to figure out the most cost effective coverage for you.
Picking out coverage involves researching and doing a lot of homework. Hopefully you have a program like this in your state.
I work for Orthopaedics and see insurance coverage for many patients. These seniors may not have the same health conditions and requirements for follow ups as you. I could PM you with the most popular supplements I see.
Good Luck,
Cathy

Hi Carol,
My supplement is through Regence..MedAdv PPO. Here is the toll free #:

Folks:
I am in New Jersey and have an excellent Medicare supplement, "United Healthcare." They have different plans with less coverage. Thus far, it has covered heart surgery and doctors' visits, and expenses for lymphoma, i.e., doctors' visits and Rituxan infusions.
I cannot afford it, but am afraid to take less coverage.
Any thoughts out there?
What about "Obamacare?"

I sent you a PM. ICarol,
I sent you a PM. I explained the differences between a Medicare advantage Plan and a Medicare Supplement. Do you have a similiar program in your state like the APPRISE in PA?
