Good luck tomorrow
I would get Ativan and Benedryl in my drip so I slept most of the time. However, I would also bring warm slipper socks and a some little lucky tailsmen (pictures of my kids, a touchstone with a cross it, a figurene of a Zuni bear that symbolizes strength through life) that gave me comfort.
Good luck tomorrow,

I bring my own blanket and pillow even though they're provided at the center. I also bring life savers, ginger lollypops, crackers, my Ipad and Kindle. My faciity provides juices and snacks for the patients and they let us bring whatever food we want so my husband will grab lunch for me if I get hungry. A lot of the patients where I go sleep the whole time but I can't sleep with all that activity around me. Good luck!

My husband brings his cell
My husband brings his cell phone..laptop..and me. They provide lunch...though he says the chemo doesnt make him sick but the cafeteria food does! They also have water juices and soda. Keep in mind that you may not be able to drink cold drinks so if they have stuff refrigerated you may want to grab it when you get there and let it warm up. I read your profile....we have a little one too...17 mos. Also a 15 yr old and almost 13 yr old! I find i get antsy wanting to get home to the baby and the day never goes quickly! If your treatment is 3 hrs...plan on being there for at least 5! Good luck!</

Try to eat before you go, as nausea is actually worse on an empty stomach (if you have any nausea). I would bring something to pass the time, and if possible try to have your husband there to help alleviate some of the anxiety (might be hard with two kids). Most treatment centers will offer snacks and drinks, but I have no idea about yours. After your first treatment, you will have a much better idea of what to bring for round 2. Best of luck with your treatments (I have done 16 so far).

I bring my knitting and my laptop.
Good luck, you will be fine. My fiance has stage IV melanoma. He has pills, I have chemo via port every two weeks. We chuckle (as much as you can in this situation) that I get to go in, get served, watch TV, have lunch. He has to take pills in the a.m. and p.m.

I always ate good before
I always ate good before chemo since is was hard for me to eat during chemo and the next few days. I brought my Bible to read the first 2 times I had cancer and my smartphone the third time I had cancer.

Work
My cancer center had everything I needed. I only brought my laptop so I could get work done so I didn't get behind. I always avoided anything that would make me drowsy because I went straight to work after the infusion was done.

All good suggestions....
I brought my own pillows and blanket, slippers, iPad and phone but after the Benadryl kicked in I just watched TV. The nurses and techs would bring me hot water or tea which I found worked with my cold sensitivity. Best of luck tomorrow...you will feel better after treatment #1 is over.

I took..
Like others, I made sure that I ate something prior too, I found protein was important. I took my own comfy pillow and my softest down throw, They had lots but mine just made me feel better. I also took my kindle and cell phone. It always seemed like the time flew by and I never had time for a nap.
Hope it is going well for you!
