I need to get a life!

My husband has an out of town job fair on Saturday and we're expecting snow. He'll be gone much of the day.  I'll probably watch DIY shows and wish I had the money to haul in good dirt and build huge flower gardens.

On Sunday we go to church. My husband has been asked to record an orchestra hours from here in the city that afternoon so he'll be gone until bedtime or later.  I'll probably watch DIY shows, then THE BIBLE Miniseries first episode on the History channel then The Walking Dead right before falling asleep.

    Long, lonely weekend this week.........

    Weather holding everyone in

The weather has been so lousy I don't think well be doing too much. Maybe some good DVDs. Watch out when the sun comes outand the temp is abovefreezing. Pray everyone stays as well as possible this weekend.  Jeff

    weekend`

I'm giving away stuff.  A whole bunch of interns from my work will be coming to my house to pick it up (for their personal use) so I'm going to make cake and coffee and socialize when they stop by.

Walking Dead looks like a good show. I watched a couple of episodes and initially liked it - the first episode when the zombies ate the horse really grossed me out., though. Some of the interns love it and have urged me to get into it. I'll try again.  Can't get the horse image out of my head, though...

    bonne weekend

    Hi Pepe and Everyone:

Well, nothing planned this weekend.  I still don't feel much like going anywhere and mingling with people (although I'm told I should).  It is still very hard to do things on my own without George.  I have taken a part time job to get out of the house a bit and that has helped get my mind off things.  I do need to get new glasses so maybe I will venture out tomorrow and I can check that off my list.  Life goes on whether we like it or not.  I am feeling a bit better although still very lonely without George and I'm told to give it time as it has only been 3 months.  I look at all his things in the house but just don't have the heart to pack stuff up, donate or whatever.  Maybe in a few months.

My daughter lives about 5 hours away and she visits quite frequently.  She stayed with me for a month after George died and has been back twice, and I have gone to her house for 8 days.  We talk all the time on the phone.

On Thursday evening a friend is hosting a "girls night out" so I will be getting out for that, it should be a fun night.  Thats about it.

I check the boards all the time to see how my friends are doing.

    Take care everyone - Tina

Well, The Highlight Of My Weekend Will Be

Returning a cable box from the  spare TV that never gets used and going shopping at Goodwill for some shirts that button for hubby. He's worn only pullovers for years. Economize, Economize!  LOL

    Hope everyone enjoys their weekend.

    People still disco??? lol

Today at 5pm will be my official start of my first official vacation since Robert was diagnosed back in 12/08.

I would always save my vacation days for sugeries, hospital stays, etc.  I am taking the leap and using it for my

    sanity.

We are not planning to go anywhere, Thursday is my birthday so I might could con Robert into taking me out for dinner.

Or maybe we can grill out..supposed to be sunny and 60 deg. that day.Cool

    Having a big birthday party
Having a big birthday party at my parents. Husband, Dad, brother and sister in law all have birthdays in March. We celebrate them all in one shot. Looking forward to spending time with my two neices. They live four hours away so we don't get to see them as often as we like. Will be good for Steve to do something normal, after just being released from hospital.

Hope everybody has a good weekend.

I am thorough-cleaning and rearranging the bedroom in anticipation of the delivery of my new recliner chair, that I've bought in anticipation of my upcoming surgery.  At least, in the scheme of things, it's minor, but on April 3, I will have surgery to repair a torn rotator cuff (curling accident).  I will have no use of my right arm for 6 very long weeks, and will need the chair, as I'll be unable to move around in my bed.  I want the knives to stay away from me!  (That being said, I was able to delay the surgery until the end of the curling season, as I can curl with my injury.  There are just other motions that I can't do.)

Maybe a visit to the Clark Institute in Williamstown, Mass. tomorrow.

    taking it pretty easy

    dear pepe,

getting over my second course of removab, 3 doses in 12 days, without huge side effects. but i have still been washed out this weekend. mainly flu type side effects and diarrhea. I have had two very demanding full body hyperthermia's over the last 8 days.

been playing some piano, reading and learning german.

reserving plenty of energy for healing from these therapies.

I hope everyone has a nice weekend.

    hugs,

    pete

    Went to CRC Summit

I went to our first annual CRC Summit on Saturday in my area.  It was fabulous.  It was mind-blowing to see the range of ages of people with this cancer.  I thought being dx'ed at 49 was bad, there were people in their 20's and 30's.  My eyes were opened even wider.

Otherwise enjoying the great NC weather.

    Best to all.
