Food...a few bites
Almost suddenly, my throat felt well enough to try some soft foods, ate chocolate pudding, scrambled eggs with country gravy, and oatmeal over the last two days. Not alot mind you, but the tastes are great and driving me to want more. I hope this is a turning point as I had gone from 225 lbs to 141lbs in the past year, most lost during and post treatment. It is challenging and I have to keep the bites small, keep my chin to chest, and rinse with water regularly. I am so thankful for this small victory.

YEAH for you!!!
You should be patting yourself on the back....and I'm SO glad to hear it's driving you to eat more. You made me hungry with the country gravy and scrambled eggs....LOL. You'll be getting better at it every day.

Craving is a good thing!
Jim,
That certainly is a turning point. I've yet to experience treatment (start in 2 weeks) but I did have major surgery 3 weeks ago and eating has been a challenge. I just recently graduated to soft foods. It's a really good sign when you're craving more! I've been really enjoying a mix of mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs and cheese. I believe it will become a standard side in our home post treatment too
Keep up the good work in recovering and congrats on your victory!"T"

few bites, tasting
Jim,
Reading your post made me smile. You're heading in the right direction for sure ! I still use gravies, sauces ect., (probably too much now). Continued success, and keep heading forward, sounds wonderful ! Katie

loved the pudding
Hi Jim
great news !! Sounds like your taste bud machine started working again. Just keep the bites small and eat slow. I lived on chocolate pudding and pancakes for a long time, since it actually had some taste, so good for you. Any food that is somewhat slippery is good, or load it up with gravy, so it slides down easy....and lots of water to wash it down.
Keep up the good work. You are doing super.
