It is kind of disappointing when someone dies that made you have hope. My mother is upset and she hasn't really talked to Tina much. I know there are success stories but now she is thinking, well why bother going through all this  if in the end you just pass away. Very sad.

    I feel very sad about Tina and others we have lost here, but I'm not about to give up anytime soon. I was given between several months and two years to live almost two years ago and I'm here still. All is not lost and there are others like me who have lived a lot longer. We all have to pass away don't we even if we don't have this disease so it's just a matter of time for all of us. It's just that, with this disease, it's hard to face and added to that, the treatments that we have to go through are tough. However, there are new treatments on the horizon which will help many people to live long lives and which are not as toxic to the system. Tina's legacy to me was that she helped me to see that life is about living and not dwelling too much on the downsides. I live in hope of the magic medicine to come. x

    we do have hope

    My mother has been going through a very bad depression. I am sure everyone with cancer has bouts of this. Even Tina had certain times when she felt a little down about certain things that weren't working for her and feeling crummy. I didn't mean that no one has a chance. My mom was given 6 months. This is her second year. Anyone can die at anytime. My mom's doctor has been treating a woman with this type of cancer for 12 years. My mother hasn't has problems with fluid around her lungs or ascites, so this is good. More time with her grandkids is also an added bonus.

    I just hope that Tina's family is doing ok. It is tough. There are more treatments every day. Scientific research needs to spend more time on preventing the growth of cancer cells. Than maybe people like Tina who made me feel normal for every emotion i had wouldn't have to die. I am not trying to bring everyone down. There IS hope. But can we honestly say that no one finds this terrible.

    To be honest, I have had lots of time where I've felt very down and depressed too. Take very good care. x
