Lymph Node Inconclusive
I had a lymph node biospy done on 2/21... I am meeting my Dr tomorrow but called him today asking for the results because I couldn't stand waiting any longer. He said the report came back inconclusive. Has anyone had this? I want to go into my appointment tomorrow with questions i should be asking. Should he surgically take it out or show we wait and rescan.
Please any imput would be appreciated.

I did not have this happen to
I did not have this happen to me. I would want to know how it could come back inconclusive? You may want to call yoaur healthcare insurance company. I have a nurse from mine that calls and checks up on me. She gave me great questions that I should ask my doctors that I would of never have thought to ask. She even gave websites to reveiw. She was fantastic!
Best wishes

Nancy, that was great info you offered. Hopefully I can convince it to go into my memory should I need it.

From the mouth of my friend
From the mouth of my friend the ocupational therapist -- Inconclusive means that the result of the test is not abnormal, and it only means that no definitive conclusion can be reached on the result of this test; meaning that just on the basis of the test result they cannot say FOR SURE whether there's an issue or not. Many times it means, possibly someone goofed up on the sampling and not able to test properly.
Maybe the doc should redo the biopsy for more accuracy. Not sure but don't fret if you can, as bet it's nothing to be concerned about. Trying to take the high road here Laura.
In any event, you'll learn lots more tomorrow at your appt...best of luck and come back and let us know how it went.
Hugs,
Jan

Thank you Jan, Connie and Nancy. When I spoke to the radiologist before the procedure he had 2 concerns.
One was the location of the node. It is towards my back, right next to my aorta and behind my kidney. So he had to determine whether the biopsy could be done safely.
The second was the size of the node. He said since it was small, there might not be enough tissue to test.
He was able to perform the procedure, and at one point was able to place the needle right in the middle of the lymph node and extract. He felt at that point it was as good as it could get and didn't want to put me in any danger.
My Gyn/Onc didn't have the report in front of him since he called me right before going into the OR. He said its not horrible news and we will talk more tomorrow. I feel relieved that he didn't say cancer.. so I'm going with this is good!
I have to tell you that you ladies are the best, I'm so blessed to have found you!

I think this is good news. ThanYouTube for keeping us informed.
I might just ask about redoing the biopsy. It sounds like it is in a tough place for removal. Anyway I will be thinking of you!
Youtube! That is hilarious. Guess I should preview.
Sending positive vibes your way,
Rachelle

Hope you get good news today. I'm waiting with you
Lol Rachelle!!! Thank you for checking up on me... and thank you Connie!!! All the good vibes you ladies have been sending my way helped immensely!!!
Ok, Dr said there wasn't enough tissue to run test properly. So he said I had two options, rescan in 2 months or remove lymph via laparsocopic surgery. His opinion was to wait and rescan because the lymph has pretty much remained the same for 6 months and no surrounding lymphs or tissue looks suspicious.
He really feels this isn't cancer. So good news!!! Of course I wish that darn lymph would just shrink already so I didn't have to worry at all, but I feel pretty good about waiting the 2 months.
I can't thank you enough!!!

Hi Jan... Your right... Carring around all the worry does take a toll on your mind and body. I'm hoping after the next scan I can graduate to scans every 6 months. In the meantime I have now, we live in NY and the sun is finally out today melting all the now from the blizzard. It almost feels like spring, I love that feeling.
And Connie, as always, thank you for your continued care and guidance!
Hugs to all!!!!
