Hi. Thanks. Where do you get Green Vibrance? What is it? Also, I will look for that Nature's Bounty drink. Where do you get it? Thanks for these tips.

    Mary

    Health Food Stores

I buy the Green Vibrance at The Vitamin Shop most of the time, but Whole Foods carries it. They also carry other products that are similar but I carefully studied the labels and found at least at that time, this one to be the best. I just use a hand held blender to put it in a smoothie and sometimes I mix it with the psyllium husk. The natures bounty complete nutritional supplement mix for women I buy at Costco at half the price than you would pay at Walgreens but they also sell it. We have a much better chance of assimilating the vitamins if we drink them. I buy the Kirkland (Costco) brand of Psyllium Husks in an orange flavor there to save money also. I can't believe the difference it has made in my life! That's a product you can truly measure.

I have to wear compression garments for my legs and groin area - the best are bicycle shorts. If you had lymph node involvement then I would try this also. Pain and Fatigue are twin sisters. The compression garments have also made a huge difference for me.

    Good luck!

    Love,

    Sandy

    Thanks sandysp

You give such good advice. I am going to look for Green Vibrance in the local health food store. (I worry that I'm not getting enough vegetable nutrition now that I've had to cut back on my beloved broccoli and brussels sprouts).  I'm going to also look into the Psyllium Husks - we don't have Costco around here though.  I've been eating Greek Yogurt every day lately, and it seems to be helping immensely - cutting down on all those trips to the bathroom. Juicers

I looked at the website and thought the Q & A was very good.  However, I was taken aback by the recommendation of a $2,400 juicer.  That one won't be in my kitchen, I can guarantee it.

Martha ~ The difference in juicers

Martha ~ I was floored that there is even such a thing as a $2,400 juicer! It is apparent that this is top-of-the-line for those who are using Gerson Therapy completely and totally for their cancer treatment with a current malignancy.  It goes on to give a link to recommended juicers for non-malignancies.

I found all of this information interesting because it explains so well the vast difference between juicers and Gerson's view of the science involved and I suppose, just like a choice in treatment facilities, you go with what's best for you, and the circumstances you may be dealing with.  While to some, the $2,400 juicer is just crazy, to others, it very well may be their life saver.

    Big love,

    Angela

    Great info

Hey there, Sandy. Thanks for sharing your story and advocating Green Vibrance. I am going to research today!

On another note  . . .  are you singing any? (no pun intended)  :)

And islandgirl is right.  Man, I LOVE my plain full fat Greek yogurt.  I have to really watch myself 'cause it's my version of ice cream these days. After that first bite it's hard to stop! "Put the spoon down and step away from the carton," my husband jokes.

    Greek Yogurt

I get the Dannon Oikos 0% Fat Greek Yogurt, Vanilla flavor. I love it. It has 190 calories a cup though, so I suppose it's not something I should stuff my face with either...... lol

    Right!

I have been eating Greek God's full fat, but I just found this report that might get me heading in the Fage direction. Please, God, let it be just as good on my tongue!

    Hi Mary

Hope you are feeling better, after my big surgery last year I had bouts of diarreah, my oncologist put me on Konsyl, I use it once or twice a day and it really helps. It is a  psyllium fiber that can be mixed with warm water or put in your smoothie, if I forget to take it I quickly realize I made a mistake and am reminded of why I need it everyday. As for vitamins, I was working with a health coach last year who gave me a good vitamin tip, put your vitamin in a little white vinegar before you go to take your shower, if it disolves when you go to check it, it will break down in your system, if not you probably don't want to take it. The vinegar is just a test, you dump it and take a new one. I was using natures bounty and it didn't disolve, I switched over to Kirkland brand at costco and they disolved when I tested them. I also use shaklee products for a probiotic and enzyme that was reccomended by the health coach along with a new fish oil I just started, I mix two teaspoons with a bit of oj and I feel all of this is puling together. I hope you find what works for you,

    Fage

I like Voskos when it comes to flavored Greek yogurt, but the Fage plain is very, very good!  It tastes like really rich sour cream to me and I have no trouble eating it with any add-ins.

I think the $2,400 juicer may be found in a few kitchens in Hollywood perhaps!  Laughing  I will check out the link for the more affordable ones for, you know, "normal" people!  lol!

One of my fears with juicing is that the intestinal tract will get so used to not having to process solid foods that whenever one does eat some solid food, there will be issues, such as a blockage like I recently experienced.  Maybe that's crazy, I don't know.

    fage yum!

I've been eating fage non-fat for a few years and love it mixed with fruit or a little maple syrup.  When I was trying to keep my weight up during treatment I tried both 2% and full-fat for both eating and blending into protein drinks.  The 2% has a lovely texture - much creamier than the non-fat but now that I'm watching my weight again I'm back to non-fat.

Yes, it's good stuff!  I have come to appreciate Greek yogurt more than ever, since my little intestinal meltdown a few weeks ago!

    Fear

No, not crazy.  I totally agree. Even within the strictest of Gerson therapies for current cancer patients solids are still incorporated in the middle of all of that juicing.  Sometimes I 'juice fast' for 2 days when trying rid myself of too much inflammation but I've never gone long without solids.  I can't help but laugh as I type this. I've come a long way in a little over 2 years.  I don't think I uttered the word inflammation before cancer and now it seems to pop up at least once a day.

I'm glad my thinking is not crazy.  The "I" word is something I never even thought about before cancer.  Now that I know it can be a culprit when it comes to not only cancer but intestinal issues such as I had recently, I think I need to learn much more about it and how to reduce it.  I am typing this as I drink a cup of coffee--something tells me that is not helping!

    Inflammation
My PCP also believes that inflammation can be a root cause of cancer and gastro issues. Blood work has shown that there is a high level of inflammation in my body. Also, I have deficiencies and food allergies that showed up. Gee, after more than 6 decades on this earth, shouldn't this have been known to me long ago? Better late than never.

Now that I know, I am able to take action. Martha, I don't use the juicer as a substitute for food, just as a supplement. I have known many people that do a detox a few times a year for a day or two. This may be something I will try down the road. For now, I highly recommend using a NutriBullet once a day. This ensures that I can target the nutrients my body needs and gives me the best shot at absorption.

I have a juicer, but it is so cumbersome and wasteful that I do not use it much at all. The Nutribullet is so easy, it costs about 100 dollars, and I believe I am getting better nutrition. My PCP recommended it. She is a cancer survivor too.
