Bottom line is:"Combining curcumin with conventional chemotherapeutic agents such as 5-FU could provide more effective treatment strategies against chemoresistant colon cancer cells....."

    Interesting

Thank you for this article. My daughter takes a bio-curcumin, I believe it is called "Thorne Meriva." This might help me convince her to take it more regularly.

Do you just order it from on the internet.

I see on Amazon it says it has good biovailability, as most curcumin doesn't.
I remember reading months ago about taking it with pepper (i don't know if that just means black pepper). That makes it absorb better.
Wonder if the Thorne Meriva has that or something else to make it absorb better. Did the naturopaths explain?

I just never started taking it because I didn't know what was best. However, I should have joined LEF and maybe found out some of that stuff.
    So much to do.

Sandy, been thinking about you. I know what you mean about having a rough time of it lately. I hope your daughter is still on the healing path.
Even with some good news, or even no news.....this dx. just gets the best of us sometimes.
I try to read as much motivating stuff as I can. I can't do it alone......my thoughts go all over the place.

    There is something about the

There is something about the Thorne Meriva formulation tat makes it more bio available. I also asked my natriopath about the one from life extension. She said that it was aLso good because it had been formulated fr better absOrbtion. I tried some that we're just curcumin, but it went right through me. I could see it in my stool. I purchase the Thorne Meriva at my natriopath or at a health store. Not all carry it so it may take a few tries to find it. I'm not sure if you can get it online.

    Thanks, Janie...

Always good to know somebody is thinking of you and yours. I've been wondering about you, too and keep thinking I'll post more on here but time just gets away. I hope you are doing well. My daughter gets her Thorne Meriva from the pharmacy at the CTCA where she goes for treatment but I have seen it at other sites online, including the LEF. I understand what you mean about your thoughts going all over the place. Crazy, isn't it? I did get my daughter some MP3s from Health Journeys to listen to and they are very good - I got her the ones for cancer and general wellness. They kind of help you to relax and are motivational and encouraging. She doesn't use them much now, but did in the beginning and when going through radiation.

    Still most traditional oncos
Still most traditional oncos will reject it as curcumin is a powerful antioxidant and as all traditional oncos know, antioxidants interfere with their chemo.

Guess that's one reason why my wife hasn't talked to a traditional onco in almost 3 years.

There is a clinical trial I

There is a clinical trial I saw that was studying the effect of curcumin and some other herbals on the affect of appetite in cancer patients.
