Thanks for updating us Lynn.Lynn Smith said:Still at her
Still at her mom's. The last hospital(the 3rd one) she developed a bed sore. This hospital was closer to home and she was getting back on her feet. They had to operate on the bed sore before her release. Now she has a nurse coming to her mom's house every other day.The bed sore was very deep in her leg.She still has some confusion but we're looking at her being at her mom's another month. All this happened because of pneumonia/kidney infection and high fevers.
Hope it's all back to normal soon.My son is with her at her mom's and trying to keep their place up with cleaning and taking care of their 3 little dogs.Grandson does some to help but he has friends and work so he's on the go alot. It's going to work out but we have to be patient. It's going to take awhile. It's got to be her pace.

Thanks for updating us Lynn. I am praying for you and your family.

Update
She's still at her mom's.Now they say it will be another 2 months for her bed sore to heal.It was deep in the leg. She'll be having a nurse come to her mom's to dress it till it heals.
She's lost her short memory. Not sure I mentioned that. She can't remember things that lasted just a few months or years ago but she remembers many years back.Even as a child. This is disappointing.I wonder about this??? I don't quite understand if it will get better or not? Not sure doctors know. Her brain is shrinking from other meds she took for years. Not sure if that's what happened with the memory or her illness was teh problem. The doctors think it's her meds. Not her sickness.Strange it all happened with her pneumonia and her kidney infection and being on life support for 5 weeks. Just to puzzling!!!!
When she gets home??? I don't think it will be within 2 months now with the bed sore and her memory. I don't think she could handle taking care of the house and she shouldn't be home alone.
I'm disappointed. Her mom, dad, our son and grandson have to be discouraged. They see and work with it everyday. It's also frustrating for our daughter in law but they have to listen to her and not try to make changes. It would be to confusing for her.
After my bout with bronchitis and months later her problems I am cautious around people who are sick. What was going on this past year with the flu season is not anything doctors saw before. Those of us with Cancer should to be careful.

I was hoping your daughter-in-law would have improved a little. Bed sores do go hand and hand with being in one position to long. I am sorry she has those as they are a bugger to heal.
No your daughter-in-law doesn't need the flu to add to the woes. I am glad that you are on the mend. Lots of people who had the flu shot earlier in the season did catch a different strain of this year's flu. Hoping things will soon turn around for your family.
Wishing you the best,
Doris

I'm very sorry Lynn. We all have been praying that your daughter in law would have a great improvement.
I don't know a lot about bed sores, but, I do know that once you have them, they are hard to heal. I hope hers heal soon.
Keeping your family in my prayers.

Thank You
Thank you for your concerns. She'll come out of it.Just not sure when.
The flu shots help but this strain of whatever it was the shot worked for some but not others. My daughter-in-law got the flu shot about a month before she got pneumonia. It didn't help her.My husband got the flu shot and a couple times he got the sniffles a few days and sneezed but that was it. He didn't get the shot till after I got sick and he was fine. Many times we never catch it from one another. We make sure we cover our mouth and also wash and sanitize hands constantly.I'm allergic to the flu shot so I have to stay away sick people or go the other way in public places. A young mother told me yesterday her and her husband have been sick 9 times during this flu season(she was sick yesterday).I could tell tlaking to her on the phone. The family tries to stay away from one another but at times that didn't work. She has 3 little ones not in school yet.WOW just wait till they get in school. Then the flu does hit full force.
Just a warning to everyone. The flu is still out there. It's slowed but doctors are still seeing many sick patients.

You'll all know if its good or not what we hoped. As time goes and not much improvement its becoming a worry. But it can take months.I still feel some effects of my bronchitis from last Sept.In all my years this flu epidemic that hit so many was the worse. I kept hearing in Dec it was hitting but it started in Sept.I talk to many many people and either they or a family member had it and couldn't shake it.The problem with this bug that was so dangerous no meds helped it.I took pencillin 5 times or more just hoping it was the certain dose/time that it would kill it.Never did.Even took the Z pack and didn't touch it either.
I'm the next thing to being a hermit.LOL!!!!

I guess I've been a hermit since that bug,My husband does the grocery shopping while I sit in the car.He tells me everyone in the store is coughing.I know that.It was even hard to go to the doctor when you needed to.Everyone was coughing. Patients and Staff.I went to functions with the family but if someone was sick they called me and told me not to come.My great nephew had a fever of 105 and I stayed away from that holiday party.
My husband even tells people at work"If you're sick get away from me.I don't want the crud". He let's it be known. He said his co-workers walk up and cough and tell him "I think I have pneumonia????"
My husband and I were cautious before but worse now. If people are sick they need to stay home.So many people I talk to said they got the bug this year during holidays parties with family members. it was hard to avoid.
The whole time my DIL was in the hospital you had to wear protectiive clothing from head to toe.Even cover your shoes. And if you had a purse you couldn't sit it on the floor in her private room. The 2 who visited her the most and had to were her husband and mom. They hardly left her side.Day or night.Just went home to sleep and the hospital she was in was quite a distance.

You should be cautious Lynn as you have been very sick yourself. I've been even more careful this year with all of the talk of the bad flu.
Praying for you and your family always!
