SweetBlood22 - Dawn has had some issues for awhile...

Just talked to her and unfortunately she has to do battle with the beast again. Not a recurrence, different issue, different area, but still SCC. From what I gather, surgery is on the agenda and if all works out after scans that could be it.

If not, then additional treatment will be needed.

So please say some special prayers for one of the "Old Timers" ...

Dawn single handedly created and loaded the original SuperThread, believe it or not, she did it entirely on her cell phone, as for bad computer and reception.

There is tons of HTML code in there to get the links, colors, fonts, etc.... Very tedious for sure... I just fixed it recently for the new site specifics, it was a pain.

But she has told me many times, it's her way of giving back... hopefully to make it easier to find good information... She hopes to ease the burden especially for the newbies here...to make it easier in some way.

When her and I first started on here several years ago, info was much harder to come by..., and you know where you get Googling stuff.

    My thoughts and Prayers are coming now Dawn, stay positive. I always had a deal with Jesus that I would never find out worse news that I found out the first day. Anything that has occured since then has never been worse then that first day and that is what I will ask Jesus for you today and always for the people on this site suffering and surviving this Beast so you all call it( I am new). God Bless and Believe, the Lord will hold your hand!

    Although new to this forum, I so appreciate all of the information you have compiled for us. I'm so sorry to hear that the nasty devil has come to visit again. Please know that you'll be in my thoughts and I'll be sending good vibes so you can shut the door in his face again.

    Thank you, John.  We all hate to hear this stuff, but hearing it about another old friend makes it tougher.  Dawn is a saint in my book.  From having to work 80+ hours for years in that shoe store.....having to tend to an elderly mother....that awful genetic problem.....and just the side effects of treatment, I'm not sure I could take it.  I pray that she will pull through again, because hard-nosed, beautiful Italian, Pennsylvania women are top notch.  Guess I'm sooooo fortunate to have made it 4 years post diagnosis, and feel great.  Prayers sent regarding Dawn.

    I am new to this web site (just joined in Jan) and I find the folks here quite remarkable! My thanks to Dawn for the superthread, it has been very helpful for both me and my wife!     “entirely on her cell phone” while fighting cancer.  That deserves a big Thank You!  Information from the Superthread and the H&N forum helped me navigate the cancer jungle with fewer surprises.

     

    I am very sorry she must tangle with the beast again and wish her the best of successful treatments.

    Thanks John for the update. Dawn was a great help during Jim's treatment. I pray the doctors get it all and this is the end of it for a strong lady. Sending her a great big hug.
