First day of chemo is over!
First day of chemo went very well. Taxol in the chest port. I still feel great. Tomorrow is cisplatin in the IP port, some fluids on Wednesday then I am done until next Monday. So far so good! I drank fluids all day and took a double dose of Miralax. I was even hungry during the infusion. I think it is the steroids that make me want to eat. Thanks again for taking all the fear out of the process. It made all the difference.

One day at a time!
Yes, day one is behind you, now! Thought about you all day. Do you feel empowered by the thought that you did it? You've started your road to beating cancer. Take it easy tonight...tomorrow is another day!

So glad to hear that your first day went well. I'm hoping and praying that the rest of your treatments go just as smoothly, with minimal side effects.
Take care,
Kelly

Yeah!
Good for you! I love the question by Wholfmeister! "Do you feel empowered by the thought that you did it?." This really hit me! I so believe that having an "empowered" take on treating this disease allows us to have some feeling of control in our sometimes upside down, out of control worlds.

Second day of Chemo is Over!
Second day of chemo finished and I am still feeling good! I look 3 months pregnant from the IP infusion but it isn't painful. Honestly it was easy. I do feel empowered by choosing the most aggressive treatment to knock it out of me. Just fluids tomorrow in the chest port. I can definitely do this!

It is so good to hear it went well! I had an appt. with my oncologist today, as well. All is going as planned. He said he likes my bone marrow...haha! Enjoy your fluids tomorrow. Don't forget the Miralax!

So glad you got off to a good
So glad you got off to a good start! There is a big since of accomplishment and relief that comes with getting through the first round. You mentioned the steroids in an earlier post - they make me really hungry too the minute they hit my system. And Miralax? Well I call it "mirace powder" and actually put it in my morning coffee!
You will do great I am sure!

How are you doing?
Been thinking about you! How is it going? Don't be surprised if you are feeling more fatigued than you did the dirt few days. All those good drugs on chemo days are wearing off! Pamper yourself with good things.

I too have been thinking about you and wondering how you have been.
Hey you know what I did when I was going through chemo (a friend of mine who is a breast cancer survivor suggested it) I went to www.carepages.com and made myself a care page. It is basicly blog page and you go in and create it (it is free) and then you invite everyone you want to be a member. I would go in every day and update on how I was doing. It was helpful because everyone could read how I was doing and post messages of encouragement to me and it cut WAY DOWN on the phone calls of everyone wanting to know how I was. It was great. Check it our if you like.
I hope you are doing well.....
