♥ ♥ ♥ Any Valentine's Day/Night Plans? ♥ ♥ ♥

My hubby made reservations for this weekend for us to go to dinner.  He made them a long time ago as he knew that Saturday would be booked at most restaurants. 

I am not sending him flowers, but, I did get him a romantic card and a new watch.  He noticed this watch around Christmas and admired it, but, I had so much for him already that I thought I'd save it for Valentine's Day.  I am glad I waited.  He will be surprised!

My husband and I sometimes have to put off celebrations, which is not necessarily a bad thing.  For Valentine's Day itself we usually do the cards and anything else, like candy/flowers.  As for going out, that tends to be the weekend before or the weekend after.

Last year my husband was out of the country.  I was going to be having my surgery a week after Valentine's Day.  He arranged to have delivered to me at school (work) an arrangement of a dozen red roses with some greenery and baby's breath in a classy red vase (solid bottom) and a box of chocolates.  My 2nd graders loved them and wanted to smell them.  My colleagues let me know how "jealous" they were.  I think that a lot of what motivated  him to do this was his love and care for me and the knowledge that we had some challenges ahead of us for the next several months.  (His being able to go out of the country was a last-minute thing he was able to do because my surgery had to be postponed for a second time.  I really did not mind his going.  He would have stayed home if that was what I wanted.  He got back two days after Valentine's Day, and so we were able to go out and enjoy an evening that weekend.)

Are you going to fill us in on what you're going to do Susie?  We want to know that too!

I am taking Dexamethsone, drinking tons of water, and getting ready for round three of chemo.  Oh, and making a special dinner of butternut squash ravioli.  Not the most romantic, but there will be plenty of time for romantic evenings after chemo is done next month!

no plans..I ususally get flowers at work...but we have a BIG disney Cruise in May ...so I hope he doens't spend the money on flowers..but if he does I will be Happy and thank him of course.

We may go out to dinner...NO diner at home (quiet) my college daughter still lives home (21) and her sister snd two young boys as well..so OUR house in never quiet..lol...

I read or heard of a really cute idea for Valentines' Day. I just may use it!  You are to write a really sweet note saying "I would love to spend hours kissing you", and then make up and give a small gift bag full of half a dozen different flavored lip-balms.  And, don't forget to follow thru on the "kissing" part. 

Lip balms are on my list to get!

Family dinner this year

My partner, Trace, and I have 2 teenagers -- our daughter is 19, our son is 14.  When we were thinking about Valentine's Day being in the middle of the week this year, we decided to make it a family event.

Our daughter's BFF has a boyfriend to whom she's surgically attached, but our daughter doesn't have anyone, so Valentine's Day is going to be a bit of a downer for her.  And our son is a Type 1 diabetic, and isn't looking forward to his school being awash in candy and cookies and heart-shaped treats all day that he can't eat.

So I've taken the day off from work, and am spending it making a nice family dinner, complete with table decorations, fizzy drinks in bright red goblets, and decorated red velvet cupcakes for dessert.

If the Pink Bus is out and about that evening, you're all welcome to stop by for cupcakes!

I'm all dolled up and ready for my hubby to get home so we can go out to dinner.  I already got a dozen beautiful white roses with red on the tips.  They are so beautiful!  I love that man!

p.s. We did have a really nice dinner, but, my hubby wasn't feeling well, so, we came home early.  I feel so bad for him, he was trying so hard to act like he felt great and I knew he didn't.  I had wine, he had water.  lol  Put him to bed with lots of medication.  Hoping he feels better.  It still was perfect just because I was with him!
