in Colorectal Cancer #1

About to head for bed, but I thought you all should know that I talked to JBG tonight and she sounded really good. So far, the results look very promising. At last blood test, platelets have risen to 120. She's not sure yet if fluctuations will occur, and will discuss that with surgeon tomorrow. She's hoping to have the drainage tube removed tomorrow and be able to go home.

I'm sure she'll post an update when she's able.

Let's all keep our fingers crossed for her and for Vicki, too. I'm not sure when her surgery is.

    I've heard the spleen can be a problem when it comes to platelets. I am glad she is doing well and I hope you are hanging in there as well.

    Good to hear, hope her numbers continue to rise and she can get back to beating this beast!!! Hopefully we will hear great news from Vickie too!!!

    Wow, that's quite an improvement in her platelets already, isn't it? So good to hear things went okay and so far, so good. I hope the good news in your family continues, Wolfen. You all could sure use a break. Thinking of all of you.

    So glad JBG is doing well!  I'm meeting with the radiologist today to fing out when they are radiating my spleen.  Johnny will have to compare notes after this. Tell her I am sending her a big hug.

    I talked to her Tues. eve. She got home on Mon. after a terrible bout of stomach issues caused by, again, medical incompetence. Don't get me started on that. LOL

    Vicki, I wasn't sure when your surgery was set. One word of caution. It seems nobody bothered to tell her that she would most likely be on a blood thinner after spleen removal, so check that one out with your doctor. I guess spleen removal makes a person more prone to blood clots. If it's not one thing.............

    Really! Wow, I have not heard that about the spleen and blood clots. That might be a factor in why Steve has them. His spleen came out in April. He was not on blood thinners. Huh!
