Does the side affects go away after treatment with anastrozole or Tamoxifen

Does the side affects go away after treatment with anastrozole or tamoxifen for 5years .Does the body start making estrogen again or does it stop it forever ,just woundering

    Estrogen Does Return

    I took several drug breaks on hormonal drug therapies.  I found the side effects went away in about 3 weeks and return within 3 weeks after restarting.  When I took a long drug break after progression on Femara, I took another drug break using my own estrogen, instead of estradiol.  The first ct scan (3 months later)  showed some growth.  Then the cancer really returned 2 months later, I waited another 2 months before having a scan and then rebooted Femara.  Mine is 90% ER+, so the cancer was using my own estrogen to grow.

    We are all different but estrogen does returned.  In post menopausal women we produce hormone from the adrenal gland.

    Thank you Doris your imput help me to understand treatment

    I alway thought our ovaries was were estrogen came from.Was really surprized when they said my cancer depended on estrogen to grow.My aunt who had cancer also but at a much younger age just had here ovaries removed and never had to have any other treatment.She has been cancer free for more then 50years.
