Lung operation?
Anyone suffered nerve damage from lung nodule removals. Was told 50% chance and is quite painful. It will be last resort. Hoping tumors shrink and die off. Don't really want them disappearing docs surgeon said leaves cavity and hue infection risk?

Nerve damage
Stage IIIC rectal - surgery, chemo and radiation. 2 and a half years later one lung nodule discovered. Had nodule removed surgically. Doing fine 6 months later. But I do have some nerve damage below my left breast. We're all different but I would say the nerve damage isn't painful. It's more of a numb, sometimes tingly feeling. Good luck with your plan.

Nerve Damage In General
I had two major lung operations...combined there were 7-wedge resections removed and two ribs sawed out.
Yes, there is nerve damage...I did the Da Vinci robot (1st patient in NTX for this)...and we later did a full open thoracotomy.
Under the breast area and all the way to my side....and all the way around my back..anywhere they diced and sliced...it hurts.
Sometimes it itches...only it is an itch you can't scratch relief from...it's just deeper than skin level...
As Yo indicated, it feels numb most of the time...with a little prickly feel to it.
I've got lots of associated scar tissue build up from both operations as one would imagine.
Had to have associated radiation treatment post surgery as well. As well as a full chemo treatment program.

was a recurrence from my original rectal cancer 2 1/2 years before. I did surgery/chemo/ratiation for the original rectal cancer. When the lung nodule was removed, I had no follow-up chemo.
