    BBdogs--

I'm glad you have a start date.  I know it made me feel much better to get treatment started, as I felt I was finally doing something to beat this disease!  Please keep us posted and I wish you all the best.

    Hang in there

I had lymphatic involvement too. I am doing well now. Last tx August 15 2012. Today took Boot Camp class at gym and did really well even in comparison to young people. Have been enjoying zumba too! During tx I did Tai Chi/Chi Gong almost every day for 15 minutes to 1.5 hours with DVD's at home. Also walked our dog almost every day except during the worst of it, which for me was in the 5th to seventh week especiswlly the week following my last treatment. Use your pain meds. I did and am not addicted. My doctor had me on Lyrica and increased the dose. Now I am reducing it and taking Aleve regularly. This is what got me to the point of really enjoying intense cardio exercise. I am very proud of myself. I was told I had a much higher dosage of radiation than mostly given due to lymphatic involvement. Radiation is the gift that keeps on giving. My Pelvic Physical Therapist has made a tremendous contribution to my recovery. But recovery takes time and a good amount of rest. Cancer and the treatment changed my life greatly, but I guess I wouldn't go back and change anything. It's behind me (pardon pun). It will be behind you soon too (had to do it again!)

    Good luck and God bless,

    Sandy

    thanks!

    To everyone,

Some minutes I think "wow, can't believe I am excited about starting radiation and chemo, why the hell did this happen"; most minutes, however, I really do want to get this show on the road and get this stuff out of me!

Will be happy to get the petscan results regarding the spot on my lung.  Longtime smoker, regret it, but I can't change that now.

Getting nervous about the side effects as I would really just like to power through, work, play with my grandkids and dogs throughout treatment.  Seems few people here have been able to avoid some pretty severe side effects.

Thanks again to all of you for posting your struggles and successes, it has been more helpful (to stalk you all) than you know!

BB, as you probably have read on the posts here, there is a broad range of how each body handles the treatments. Hope for , and expect the best. I am one of the people who did not have debilitating side effects. I hope the same for you! Watch your nutrition very closely now. Low fat, high protein, organic and no artificial ingredients. Also, limit sugars! I do think sometimes there is a self fulfilling prophecy and if you think it is going to be horrible, it will be.

    Hang in there!
