Thank you!elpasorudy said:Mary Ann update
Mary Ann is having the other drain tube removed this morning and may be discharged home tomorrow. She will see thoracic surgeon Monday and get an X-ray to determine whether fluid retention around lungs has stopped. Mary Ann is in good spirits, looking forward to getting home.
So glad to hear Mary Ann is in good spirits, thank you for the continued updates and hope she will be home soon!

Discharge Delay
Mary Ann has a UTI and fever, so she remains at Health Park. She had second drain tube removed Tuesday and was doing well until about 5 p.m. that day when she suddenly began shivering and said the room was cold. She then started shaking like someone using a jack hammer; her heart rate jumped to 140 and her oxygen saturation dropped to 88. The nurses got her vitals stable, drew blood and checked her urine, which indicated an infection. She is on antibiotic, but continues to run a fever of 101.2. Today marks three weeks in the hosital ... My brother's sister Ann is flying in from Colorado Saturday to lend a hand and provide support.

Oh Rudy, I am so sorry to hear about Mary Ann's latest setback. Please send her my love and best wishes and let her know that I am continuing to pray for her. I hope that the infection subsides soon and she can come home. Three weeks in hospital is too long.
Kindest wishes

I am so sorry to hear about the UTI. I am glad she got the second chest tube out though. I hope she is feeling better soon. Three weeks is a long time in the hospital. You both remain in my prayers. In peace and caring.

Seems like the closer one gets to seeing the "positive light", the further away it becomes. Keep on keeping on Mary Ann and Rudy, home is just around the corner, despite the snag in the plans.
Blessings to you both~
