Hanging On
Just a quick note to let everyone know I'm still hanging on. I have all the side effects of chemo: nausea, GERD, insomnia, constipation, and on and on. I have a few good moments now and then but a lot of poor times in between. I am also having some eye problems (Iritis), a painful swelling I get from time to time. I can't post anything thoughtfull. Just wanted to let everyone know I'm still hanging around. Sorry I can't seem to post support to others. Rick.

It's 24/7 to fight cancer
Rick,
You have all the bummer side effects hitting you at once. That you can post at all is a testament to your resilience. Let us hope that the intruder is taking it harder than you.
Hang in there buddy, we are all on your side.

Doing more than you think
Rick, I get it as I have times where I don't log on or lurk or reply to only the posts that interest me. I think this is just human nature. Buddy, you are one of the family members that by just checking in and letting us know you are ok is very therapeutic for me. I know you are not feeling well, but you manage to come on and say hi. That's good enough for me, and anything more than that is a bonus.
Positive MOJO headed your way.
Best
Mike

GERD
Hi Rick , I'm wondering if you are taking anything for GERD ? I was having more problems with it than usual after my Rads and I had been taking one 4o mg Nexium every morning . When I complained to my doctor he gave me a Rx for Zantac 300 mg and told me to take both . He said to take Nexium 30 min before my biggest meal so now I take it before Dinner and take the zantac 30 minutes before breakfast and it has really helped me. Peggy

Unfortunately, my parathyroids have been badly wacked with the neck surgeries. Therefore, my blood calcium levels are not regulated. I must supplement under a tight schedule. Calcium is absorbed only with an acidic stomach. The potent acid blockers will inhibit calcium absorption. This will lead to arrtyhmias. I've been there; with calcium levels as low as 6.0 (should be above 8.5). Last chemo my calcium was 7.2. So everything is a tightrope walk What fun. Rick.
