How exciting if you are!

It has been a while since the Dutch have had a King....
...and the wife of the crown prince is very much involved, as you can imagine...
But her father is not allowed into the country, because of the terrible things he used to do as a thug....pushing people out of airplanes, etc....
It will be interesting to see if a special grace will be extended...his daughter, after all, will be queen of The Netherlands!

They don't want the father there, he wasn't allowed at the wedding, it'll be interesting to see.
There was a succession of three queens?

1813 – 1840 William I (as Sovereign Prince 1813 – 15, abdicated)
1840 – 1849 William II
1849 – 1890 William III
1890 – 1948 Wilhelmina (abdicated)
1948 – 1980 Juliana (abdicated)
1980 - BeatrixJuliana was the Queen who never wanted to be called "Your magisty", just 'mevrouw' (like 'Mrs.")....and Beatrix, when she was younger, was very much a 'people's queen'....spontaneous and friendly. As time passed, she became less outgoing. And then, with the tragic accident of her son, well, I think she is just tired...sigh...
(I MUST say, I NEVER thought I would live in a country with a Royal Family! *grin* But it sure is fun!)
