As I came home from an appointment with a pulmonologist I noticed a strip store front that needs to be leasesed. I thought what about a store named "Hope ". Stock it with support staff, hope gift items and. alternative therapies. What would you stock or add? I "hope " you can have some creative fun with this idea.....i

"What would you stock or add? " ~ Barb

Well, darlin' we could put a kiosk right out front as you enter and have it stocked with my book Wink

It's just full of HOPE - from cover to cover...

Your place might be the only store to carry it, LOL!

    Definitly a big table filled
Definitly a big table filled with Craigs book! Craig would have to make a few trips for book signings of course!

I love this idea actually. Wish we had the funds to do this. I would have a juicing station in the back. A little lending library with a fireplace and tea station. Would sell the hope items you mention...with a portion of the proceeds to go to local families dealing with cancer. Would offer a yoga class. Maybe chair massages. I would invite each of our awesome csn survivors to come tell their story to a weekend group that will join us for healthy snacks and fresh juice. What else?? Hmmmm...will keep thinking. Maybe we can start a franchise?

We actually have something like this nearby...

called "Cancer Lifeline".  Has all kinds of classes and support groups, all free.  Does not have massage, however...I'd be there every day if that was offered!  AA

    • Travel assistance that provides FREE travel to all cancer patients to go anywhere they need to go or just want to go.

    Love your responses
Your suggestions to stock this store or franchise are great!
The actually beat my support group's intentions.

Craig - book signing and TV appearance is mandatory!

    Hugs to everyone!

    My addition....
I would want to manage the store and meet, greet, all who come.
Let each person know they are unique and not alone. Please come here, even for tea, a hug, or to talk.
It's so important to have nurturing but especially when first diagnosed. It sets the tone to continue fighting with
    this insidious crappy disease.

To listen, help just one person emotionally, would be so fulfilling for me.
Having the strength emotionally equals strength to fight physically.

I love chair yoga and yoga...definately would offer an intro....

I am fortunate to have a local cancer center with many support programs but there aren't enough of them
with all the cancer patients (or should I say victims) in the suburbia in the Chicago area.

This is my take and thank you for responding.

    So glad
Have read your posts and you have inspired me.

I think all would put together a nurturing plan for all who have this terrible disesase.

It certainly has changed how I view the world and especially relationships.

    My best to you!

    This is a sweet thread

And I think the store should hand out kudos and pats on the back for all fighting this disease. The fight just goes on and on and becomes the new "normal," but it really isn't normal, yet people on the outside forget that and think that things are back to normal and everything is "fine." And they seem to only want to offer support when things are bad.

Marie - you forgot to mention

Marie - you forgot to mention kittens! So I would add lots of baskets of soft, purring, bundles of fluff. :)
