Survived another 'country switch'....
We arrived safely in The Netherlands on Tuesday. It is very cold here, and today I was gifted with a soft snowfall.
I am busy putting the house together, and settling in, contacting friends, and planning our days. The end of February we have booked a cruise from Rome to Turkey, Israel, Greece. By then, this sun-loving gal will more than likely need a break from the cold!!! (Yes, I have my camera!!! *smile*).
Hugs to all, Kathi

What Wonderful Places You Will See
Dear KathiM,
I am glad you will have your camera. Those countries Turkey, Israel, Greece were on my bucket list but it's to late for me now with issues of walking and money. I will hope to see them through your eyes. Will you be doing a blog?
I've been to Rome, Florence, Naples, Pompeii and loved that part of Italy. Rome, the eternal city would take an eternity to see it all, there is so much to visit. I loved every second I was there.
May you have a wonderful cruise.
Bon Voyage,
Doris

Turkey is one day. We then go to Cyprus for a day, and then 2 days in Israel...first Haifa, then Ashdod. Then on to Crete, up to Naples. Depending on the internet on the ship, I will share pics as I go....our first 2 days are 'at sea' after leaving Rome, so I can get a feel for it....
We have traveled Turkey by bus, but I really would like to spend more time in Istanbul. I will search for pics, if you would like. It was quite a trip..8 days.
We have also been around Italy...but only one day in Naples. We toured out to Capri....PERFECT day!!! We may leave the ship a day early and stay a few days there in Naples, rent a car, and drive back up to Rome. We have been to Rome twice, total 4 days, and so have seen much of it...I agree, it takes time to take it all in. And, as it stands, because the port is so far from the airport, we are planning to fly in from Amsterdam the day before, and stay in a hotel near the big train station to take us on to the port the day of the cruise. We can use the metro, grab some dinner on one of the piazzas....good memories!
We will have many photo ops, dearheart...I will make sure to post plenty.
Hugs, Kathi
