CT scan results. No MRI results yet.
The onc called late on Friday with results. (I haven't been able to get on since then.) We will be changing my chemo again. One of the lymph nodes is larger, the local recurrence is larger, and there is fluid in the lining around both lungs. There is not enough to drain, so the hope is the new chemo will take care of it.
I let them put the IV in my arm, there was no nurse available for 30 minutes and I had another appointment right after. During the scan my vein blew. It hurt like a ......(insert your own words here). The tech did not hear me call out, so I waited till there was a pause in the scan. In the meantime, all that contrast material was going into my arm. It was so swollen! They put hot packs on right away, and gave me a couple to go. The swelling went down pretty quickly and I don't feel any lasting effects right now. But for the MRI I waited for the nurse to come access my port...lesson learned.
I hope all my pink kindreds are having a wonderful start to the New Year! May you have much joy and happiness this year!
Hugs,
Linda

Oh Linda,
I am so sorry toOh Linda,
I am so sorry to hear this. Do you know what chemo you will be on yet? When will you get the results for the MRI? My heart breaks for you having to go through all of this. It must have been painful when the vein blew. I thought they was suppose to be able to hear you. :0
I think I would have started kicking or some thing. I'm sending you all my strength, love & prayers. You have always been a inspiration to me. Your one very strong Lady. I'm proud to call you sister.
Take care Darlin Kay

Kay, the onc suggested cisplatin (or carboplatin) and gemzar, OR euribulin. It will probably be the platin and gemzar. I'm posting about the MRI--but it was good. The brain mets are still gone. Yeah!!!! There are some changes because of the brain rads, but I have to study the report a little more to understand exactly what they are.
And I did start waving my non-IV arm, that's when the tech finally came in. I think they just couldn't hear me over the noise of the machine.
Thank you for your wonderful kind words...it makes me all warm and fuzzy. You should know that you have been an inspiration to me too. This IBC thing is sneaky and nasty. I am equally proud to call you sister. You take care too!
Hugs,
Linda
