Thanks max, it's been quite a ride and it will sure be nice jump off the chemo train. I hope your doing well and your blood comes back nice and clean. Do they still do any scans on you? All my best to you my friend, your insights and support along with many others on this board have been invaluable to me and I truly appreciate it. Even though I've turned into more of a lurker than a consistent poster never doubt my love and support for y'all. I'm still here, aaron

Aaron,
As I mentioned a long time ago, after I finished treatment I ignored boards for nearly three years, and just sort of wandered back in around the time I met you here, so I understand infrequent use of them. For certain, it is best to forget about this mess if possible !
About a week after my last infusion I got a PET, and three months later a CT, and have had no further scans. The doc said in his judgement elaborate blood tests were sufficient, which I was happy to hear, since the radiation and expense are both best avoided. For the first two years the blood tests were every three months, and after two years he dropped it back to once every six months.
Your doc may act similiarly or propose a different schedule. I am not aware of a "set" post-treatment monitoring policy for people in CR. Our strain of HL was very rare anyway.
Bless you guy, and thanks for the good intentions,
max

Hi!!
Hi Aaron,
Sorry. I haven't been on the board much and missed the PM.
Yahoo! Finished my 12th treatment on December 31! A nice way to ring in the New Year for sure. I now have to wait for my PET scan which will be towards the end of January. I just phoned to make sure they put the rec in for it because I don't want to be falling through the cracks at this stage.
I'm really looking forward to reclaiming my life! Thanks for thinking of me. You're in my thoughts too. I hope that you have an uneventful treatment on Tuesday. Good luck.

I'm glad to hear you got your final treatment and all went well. Hopefully they will get you the pet in an Expediant fashion. It's sure a good feeling to look foreward to life without chemo, I can sure relate.
