Merry christmas to all! havent really posted anything, didnt feel  i have the energy this time and i think beacause of all the anticipations and all the hooplas of the holidays, i think i felt the most holiday blues. This second one is more difficult for me as far as mentally, sometimes i think i am losing my focus and my strenght, it feels like its so long and cant wait to get to the third. I felt like i was putting down the moods of everyone around me, so i tried to kept things to myself this time. thanks God not much aches and pains this time but a lot of bloating, bowel problems and some nusea. it feels more tiring, just deppressing this time, more anxious but i know I just give it to God and He will take care of everything. I wouldnt know what to do if not for my family and friends.

Awe Eleanor, I am so sad you
Awe Eleanor, I am so sad you are having such a hard time. As i face just starting this horror in just a few short weeks from now i can only wonder and imagine how i will manage it. You seemed so much stronger and more positive going in.

And please don't take what i am about to say to personally, is just from my personal beliefs and perspective, but you keep mentioning god, and giving up to god, etc. From my view is hard to see what or how this so called god has done anything to help. I've never been much of a god person perse, more of spiritual humanist believing in science and the power of love of friends and family. My hope for you is that you get to feeling better. Can you drs give you anything to help with the bowel issues and you blues?

Thinking of you and wishing you better days ahead

    Holidays

Do you think maybe the holidays made it harder this time?  There is so much to do and alot of it falls on us as women.  We have such high expectations for the celebrations and when we don't feel up to it, it just makes it that much harder and brings on those holiday blues.  Going through chemo is hard enough but when you pile on  the extra responsibilities that doesn't help.  Maybe now it's time to focus on yourself and take care of yourself.  Are you taking stool softeners?  My onc suggested Senekot and it helped.  I also took nauseau medicine around the clock for the first few days.  That's what I did after the first chemo treatment.  We will see what happens after the second treatment next Wednesday.  I, too, depend on God to help me get through this. I made it through the first one and you have made it through two. I will continue to pray for you.  Hugs to you.

My faith has done great to me

My faith has done great to me but I respect your belief as much as  you respect mine Diane. No worries. I know everyone is different and we don't have the right to judge or impose to anybody our own beliefs or faith. We cope to life struggles as well as to blessings in different ways. My faith in God has always been my anchor much more now that I am facing this challenge. I am ok, I think I am not as upbeat this time than the first because i think there were a lot of things happened that made things seemed very fast. You know the anticipation of the first chemo, how I gonna react, then the hair loss, how I am wearing wig etc...now it's just very tiring to wait. and this is just me, everyone reacts differently. I wish you all the best for your coming treatments. I know you'll do great.

Hi Pat! How are you? It's

Hi Pat! How are you? It's almost time for your second also. I am ok, I think it's mostly because of the holidays, it's just makes it harder to be sick when everyone is on holiday mood. But I am ok, taking my senokot when I am constipated but I have days with bloating and diarrhea so it's just harder to get situated sometimes. You bet I have all the medicines, i am glad these doctors gives me what I need. Good luck on your coming treatments and like you, I keep you in my prayers.

    Hang in there!

Hang in there, Eleanor1!  I think that probably its being the time of year it is has not helped make this any easier for you.  No doubt you weren't out doing the things you normally do.

You will do fine, as you begin to see your patterns after treatment.  There are some things you can probably do to be proactive so you can avoid some of the things that seem to be happening repeatedly.  I remember having to tell myself on occasion that this is just how it is for now and to just deal with it.  Eventually, I would  be on the other side.

I have a strong faith in God and His faithfulness -- not easily explained to or understood by those who don't believe.  Don't let go of that.

"When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior." [Isaiah 43:2-3a) NLT]
