Cancer Treatment Center Of America -VS- MDACC. I go to MDACC and feel that it one of the best for my type of Cancer. I had some friend tell my wife that Cancer Treatment Center of America was better. I don't beleive that, but how do I convince my wife of that? My wife is getting worry. The web page for cancer, rates MDACC the best.

agree MD Amderson is one of the very best in the world
The professionals in the industry that I speak with believe that the cancer center of america is a "bad" joke.

    There is no comparison

    Decisions
It may be wise to focus more on the person treating you rather than the institution. MD Anderson is an absolutely awesome resource. At the same time, treatments are done by individuals. Long experience (min 1000+ similar individual procedures) & track record matter most.

    MDACC
I checked out Cancer Centers of America a while back just out of curiosity. I read several "reviews" & experiences of others that seemed to indicate that Cancer Centers of America was most concerned with whether or not the patient had insurance or not. I also read of questionable advertising, false claims of cures, and so on. But this is what I came away with as I researched. In my opinion, MDACC is a top research center, teaching facility & has some if the best staff around. This is solely based on my treatment experiences since I became a patient at MDACC.

    Best Choices
My personal opinion is that the best facility that treats you is one that places a high priority on your personal priorities about long term solutions and quality of life, explains in detail what they are going to do and why, and encourages you to seek other opinions. There are many excellent treatment centers in the United States.

I see many television commercials for the Cancer Treatment Centers of America. I have never interacted with them but I am inherently suspicious of any organization like this that spends so much money on advertising. Just a thought.

It's good to hear from you Kongo and MDACC is everything you said and more. All comment's have given me a warm feeling about the last 3 years at MDACC and maybe the next 10 years... I hope!
