Pat, so glad you posted, ivemissrenee said:Great job, Pat
We knew you could do it. Now take it easy, let others help out, rest when you need to, and pamper yourself. Glad you're drinking a ton--it really helps.
Hugs, Renee
Pat, so glad you posted, ive been thinking about you all day.
Have a restful evening and hope your effects are tolerable.
What if anything have you pre thought about hair issues? Take the control and just do it yourself or wait till it starts on its own. I saw Eleanor is starting to really struggle with this.

To be honest I haven't been fond of my hair for a while. I'm 64 and it's been getting thin on its own. So I look at this as time to try something new. I already went and got two wigs , a sleep cap, and a cute winter hat. One of the wigs was free from a local wig shop that works with the pink ribbon society. My hair dresser said she would shave it when the time comes. I would prefer that to finding my hair on the pillow some morning or having to clean it up in the shower. But that's just me. I'll keep you posted.

Good to hear you made it
Good to hear you made it through #1. I see you are drinking lots of water. I do not know if you are having to take steroids, at least for a few days. I had to take two per day for three days after chemo day. My nurses told me that it would be smart to take the pm pill mid-afternoon rather than in the evening or before bed, as otherwise I could have problems sleeping.
I had no problems with sleeping, except for needing to get up to use the BR because of all the water I was drinking. I knew that since I was unable to go to work (school . . . small, lovey/huggy kids), I could catch naps to make up for missed sleep.0 -

Glad it went well for you, Pat. The anticipation was much worse than the event for me. Take good care of yourself, follow all the advice and let others help if needed.

Thanks for the tip on taking the PM pill earlier. I was awake for quite a while last night. I did get some stuff accomplished though. I can nap today. Hey what do you teach? I just retired in June from 25 years of teaching first grade and then. Kindergarten. I miss those small, lovely, huggy kids. Don't miss the snotty noses and coughs though. I loved teaching.0 -

Day 2
Day 2 is going ok. I had a little issue with constipation but everything came out all right . Too much information??? Sorry.
I'm making myself eat and snack. Ive been drinking lots and lots and lots of water. I tried flavoring it with crystal light for a change but at this point I still prefer plain water. How long do I have to keep drinking this much water?
I won't bore you with every day progress.
DianeHelen: I know you are curious to my progress because you are not far behind me. It's up to you but if you want to give me your email address I can post more to you. Strictly your call.. No pressure. Or you can just watch in here.
I know I keep watching for Eleanor's posts because she is a little ahead of me.

Oh Pat I am so happy you are doing good...I am praying for you...I was constipated too and bloated on my first week but that too will get better. I know I was struggling for the last 2 days but I am better now. I think it was just dealing with the reality, like I said I thought I was ready for the hair loss but don't worry, I am good. It was a momentary lapse of control on my emotions but I know that won't be the last one....these are stages I have to go through and I am ok about it, these will pass and with the grace of the Lord He will walk me through these steps ....now I am preparing for my second one, I think I am ready, I didn't lost any weight, I think I even gain some and still drinking lots of fluids. Take care and feel free to ask me anything and I will do my best.0 -

Thanks , I am doing better..I have my ups and downs but that's just how I handle it, gets emotional, cry my lungs out then after that move on again. Yesterday, instead of staying home sad, I went out and met with my coworkers and then out shopping. I forced myself to get up, fixed my hair and dressed up and felt good. I hope I don't present myself to you out there that I am so concerned with my looks, but it helps boosts my morale, to see myself look good still even though I feel lousy. Battling with this hair loss is really hard but I know I will be fine.0 -

Eleanor, you certainly do not strike me as someone overly concerned with looks. It seems very normal to want to look your best to go out and face the world. You strike me as a Very Strong Confident woman who I admire and wish I was more like :-),0 -

Diane
Day three is going ok. The only thing I have today is a metallic taste in my mouth. I've been sucking on lemon drops and it takes care of it. My appetite is still good. So far so good. I had to take my husband to the hospital for some scheduled tests so it made me get up, do my hair and get out for a while. It felt good to get out. Dianehelen: how did the doctor visit go or would you rather email me?
Eleanor would you be willing to share email addresses or would you rather communicate in here?
