Life...
6 months after my last rad my only Sister died. 3 months ago, yesterday, my Mom died. And now, my 91 year-old Dad is going thru the struggle of his life with intestinal issues that have had him in the hospital, and now a nursing home. It appears that Depression is equal to any physical problems he has.
Least on my table is that I have a white spot around 1/8" in diameter on the inside bridge surface in my right nostril, and there's some blood around it. And, my white blood cell count recently showed as elevated.
On the other side of the coin, last night I threw my back out at work again. Knocked me down to the floor in pain 3 times, and for most of the night there was pain with every step. Arthritis in the lower-right back was diagnosed years ago. So, today I woke, and in pain, and yet when I started walking around it was like all feeling vanished in the problem area. And, I was able to drive the 110 miles, to and from, to see my Father and convince him to transfer to a 1st-class nursing home that hopefully will be able to help with his issues. It was like, "Lord, I have to get home to help my Dad. I'm all he's got, now..." And thus, I was able to without any pain. Does the Grace of the Lord hear us, and take an active part in our lives in the hours of greatest need? Yes, I-

When I first found this site....
it was your words that filled me with courage and offered me the ability to be positive about where I was going. I remember I wanted to reach out and hug you (and I would have if you'd been in the room...the relief I felt then is still palatable today)!!
Tonight I want to hug you again...You have a lot on your plate, yet you keep on trucking...YES, the Grace of God DOES hear us...He is our beneveolent Father, and we are his children. How else does a painful back all of a sudden become painless?? I'm sending heartfelt prayers about the spot in your nose...I BELIEVE it's not going to be anything serious...I do.

And now it's your words that have helped me. Goes around, comes around, I reckon. Even in the worst case with the spot, come what may. I will survive. Thank you.

funny what we say and hear
Hi Kent,
You have my condolences to the power of 4 after what you described and to top it off with back pain (with reprieve). Sometimes it is not how much but how much more we can take. With your faith helping shoulder the burden you sound well. I am with p51 and think the spot will move on.
I side track here a bit, but you were the first person to respond to my first post and of course part of my thread was I was hoping to eat again some day. You told me that after 4 months that you had “a brat w/mustard, onion and relish at a company golf outing” and it was a turning moment for you (on eating). Well it took me 7 months and I had a “Big Dog w/relish and mustard” and it was good and I whispered “thank you” to you (silly story, but true).
Hope your Dad is fine and that things go your way.
Best,

Why is it that when it rains it pours...I know the feeling. God bless you with the struggles you have. Keep fighting and remember all we really have is this day, this moment. This is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad. Amen.0 -

Hi my brother
I hear you, if I did not have faith I don’t know where I would be. Last week I was doing my HBO treatment and for the first time I meet the guy in the other chamber. He had jaw cancer a few years ago and it came back for a second time. His jaw was all swollen up and he could hardly talk, treatment was not working so his doctor ordered some HBO to see if it would help. I was not in the best of moods that day, you know the poor little me thing. But when I meet Patrick I could see how much worse it could be. What made me stop in my tracks and wake-up was this mans Faith, he said it’s not a problem, God knows all about it.
How very true it is, in the hour of our greatest needs God is always there.
God bless

I want to thank you for all the help you have given me since my father was told he had cancer almost three years ago. I will pray for you and your family. Stay tough.
Much Love,
Kathy
Went very well, indeed. Looked and described what I was seeing just like I described it in the first post of this thread. Musta recognized it. He hooked a vacum up to it for around 15-seconds to see the effect. Did not give me an explanation for it that I can accept- does not look like a "scab," but he said it definitely is NOT C. Did ask me to remind him on the next visit to look at it again, but he is not concerned. Made my day.
And my Dad- he is settling in great at his new nursing home. Place is like a Country Club Nursing Home- has called the place "ritzy," and told me he never knew such a nice place even existed. And, he is very cool with spending the winter months there, so he's good with spending at least the next 3-months there.
So, all is good with me in the land of Lincoln. Yes.

So true
Kent:
So sorry you're having these issues right now, but so true that the Lord hears us. Don't know whether you saw my post on urgent prayer request or not, but my best friend's husband had a needle biopsy of his left lung yesterday; still don't know anything for sure but given his history as a smoker and he is 75 good chance it's cancer; but we're praying for a miracle. I've know Beki since we were 2 1/2 yrs. old and known Steve for the last 37 years. I so don't want her or him to have to deal with this. Her dad just celebrated his 95th birthday this past Sunday (still lives in his own home) and her mom passed away almost 9 yrs ago and she's an only child and all he's got right now. Do hope your Dad gets better soon and his issues are resolved and am praying for you and hope you nose thing goes away too. You have been such an encouraging person and I know praying too and I thank you. God Bless and I Believe too!

What a relief, huh? I can feel it all the way up here!
I know just the kind of place your dad is in...when I first walked into it, I thought it was like a palace...it was beautiful!! Not to mention the food was fantastic! I think my mom was surprised, too...that such a place existed.
Gawd, Kent...I am SO relieved for you.
