Just to let you know I'm thinking of you. I hope that today went smoothly, and that tomorrow's surgery goes well.

You will get through this! It is amazing to learn what we can cope with when we have no choice. Fear and tears are permissible, but know we are all here holding your hands through cyberspace.

    Thanks for thinking of me Alice.

    Well, as promised, I'm ready for the i told you so's to begin, so come one come all!

    It really was not that bad, and the best part was how fast it was. They do not numb at all, some bs about how it inhibits the dye or whatever. But it was about a level 5 pain (1to 10 scale) , on the initial stick, which was maybe 2 seconds, followed by about 4 seconds of level 4 burning pain as the dye went in.

    I was pretty zonked too, taking 1.5 mg xanax for the ordeal


    They did not do the scans, that will be tomorrow right before surgery, and they said i could take an iPod in with me to pass the 40 minutes or so.

    So i actually lived thru it, surgery tomorrow

    So glad it was manageable!
    The unknown is so frightening, and hearing a single story of the procedure being painful is enough to set you up. You've jumped into a world of the unknown, and so being panicked is part of the ordeal.

    Having just had a lumpectomy (tho without lymph node resection) I can honestly say that while it is no fun, it isn't terrible either. It's an unpleasantness to be endured.

    I'll be thinking of you tomorrow, and looking forward to your report when you feel up to letting us know how you are doing.
