Scansiety
ahhh... you have a case of Scansiety. A fear of the bad news of a scan.
yep, we've ALL been there... and we will all be back again, and again.
I have a scan this week too, so I'll be thinking of you and praying for good news for you as well. I haven't had a scan since June of this year, prior to my bag-reversal surgery which was in July.
Remember, there's a better chance of good news than bad news, especially since you mention that you're having hand and feet problems. that could be the Hand-foot syndrome or neuropathy.
I have both. What chemo meds are you on?
good luck this week.
cheers

Scan anxiety indeed. Joe's quite right...we've all been there and will continue to be. You might want to consider bringing someone with you to you r Dr appointment. With someone else in the room, you can "not hear" yet still get the information that you will need to make informed decisions. I'll be thinking of you on Tuesday. I have a colonoscopy on Friday and always find it comforting remembering many here are also having tests.

Just focus on putting one
Just focus on putting one foot in front of the other and breathing. Just get through it. It will be over soon. You're strong enough to handle the news whatever it may be. I read your "about me" page. Your situation looks very promising. I'm sure it will be good news. Good luck. Let us know how it goes.

make it a good punch if you have too
normally i practice love and compassion, but getting some physical release of your fears seems in order, i could also knock the stuffing out of my 5 oncologists, the six one so far is safe.
enjoy today, tomorrow has away of sorting itself out.
whats happening in your biology is happening, good or bad , the scan result is just a piece of the jigsaw. i hope its a good looking piece.
simlie if you can.

Scan results
Had my first scan postop last week and meet with docs for results on Thursday so know how you are feeling. Done it so many times before and do get used to it to a degree but the anxiety never totally goes away around these moments.
Just keeping busy and distracted doing online christmas shopping- good excuses to spend money!

I will be thinking of you (and your wife) on Thursday. Can't express how much I'm rooting for you. My husband and I are really in awe of all you've gone through. Really hoping for good news on Thursday.

High Scanxiety!
I go on Wednesday, so add me to the list. If its good, my onc said I can do another tx mid-December, then skip one over Christmas. That would be nice. Hoping and praying for good results for all!

Scans
Wishing you the best on your scans. It's tough having to wait for the results. Maybe you could call later this week and get the results over the phone. The anxiety of the results are so hard.

Hang tough
Pray that everything is positive with your scans this week. It's always very nerve wracking getting those results but unfortunately that is part of this crazy cancer ride. Hoping for the best. Jeff0 -
I wish you all wonderful
I wish you all wonderful results and peace of mind leading up to the "results" appointment.
GOD's blessing to you all!

Ah fun - the scans and the tests
I had clean scans so far and getting my next cea this week. Anxiety times a million. I just don't think about it until the very last second, kinda like going to the dentist. I work to keep myself super healthy and control everything in my power. Best of luck0 -
I am in the same boat...I am
I am in the same boat...I am going to have my first ct scan since before my surgery ... On Thursday. I am hopeful that it will show Ned...but I don't see the actual dr until Christmas eve...I hope I don't get coal for Christmas.

Best, best wishes to all of you having scans this week!
I'm supposed to have my PET sometime this month, but decided to wait until after the holidays. My best Christmas present would be that everyone on this forum would get perfect results. Ann Alexandria0 -

Hi All, Just got back from my scan, now this was a ct scan I had to drink stuff and have the iv in to highlight. Is that normal? Last time it was a petscan. Now when I was leaving the nurse said GOOD LUCK.. is that bad..did she see something? When I had my colonoscopy in feb. the nurse said as I was leaving that she would pray for me..and I knew. She tried to cover it by saying she says that to anyone who might have surgery..but I knew. Joe, why do you think it would be good if I have neurapathy? I lost the names of my meds but the one I'm still on is the one with the pump. The Dr. stopped the other when my neuropathy started to get bad. Good luck on your scan. Also Cathleen on her colonoscopy and the other scans this week..geez there are a lot this week!Thank you everyone for taking the time to post. I am so glad this is here.Wishing everyone well and let me know what you think if the lady, she was the one who actually ran the test, said a bad thing.0 -

Nurses should not be commenting. I would not worr about the "good luck.". She/he was likely just being friendly. I wouldn't worry.

The CT scan does require drinking the "contrast" refreshment to coat the intestines, and the IV is the contrast for those areas which are rich in blood. At least that is the way I understand it. For instance, no drink is required for a chest CT scan/with contrast as it is given by IV only.
I don't think the tec had any news or reason for wishing you good luck, other than she knew you already had cancer (probably noted on doctors order for the scan) and was wishing you good news on this scan.
Don't worry yourself about two little words. Hopefully your doc will have results soon and then you will get the real news, which I hope will be good.
Hugs,
Marie who loves kitties0
