I just had my most recent MRI, looks good. I was diagnosed in March of 2011 and feeling great, so I just wanted to share some hope, I have a LOT!!,!

    Very happy for your good news and thanks for sharing your positive story!
    My husband is going to have his 17th month MRI in another two weeks. He is going strong too. Pray for all the brain tumor patients and caregivers in this holiday season. Let's hold on for as long as we could, a cure will be there someday.

    Great news!!
    It's always refreshing to hear happy news.

    My sister was diagnosed with AA3 in March 2009 but had a clean MRI in the spring of 2010 and she's been clean ever since. I continue to pray for her and all of you on this board.

    Congratulations! You are blessed. Please remind me the location of your tumor and if they got it all out on first surgery? Also, have you had other treatments besides the first one? What was your treatment?

    My daughter had anaplastic astrocytoma 3, they got 80-90% out at first then she had a year of chemo. Unfortunately, she has had a reoccurrence and now we are doing 2nd round of radiation coupled with Avastin.

    We are praying and praying, but it seems like things are not going well. I am still trying to see what treatments are working. We will keep praying for sure!

    Thank you!

    It was in the right parietal lobe, right near the skull, very easy to resect. My first surgery successfully removed it all. I had a second craniotomy to insert Gliadel wafers. After healing enough it was 6 weeks of daily radiation plus Temodar. Then it was Temodar plus Avastin for 9 months. That was the trial plan, I finished the trial in July and am now on Avastin every 3 weeks through July 2013. Then we get to stop, because the statistics finally turn in my favor and I won't need treatment!!!

    Duke university turned me around and offered me options no me else had.

    Hi:

    Thanks for sharing. Sarah is supposed to do Avastin every three weeks also. She is having radiation right now. It is really rough. It is her second radiation.     Temador + Avastin
    Hi Scott, good to hear your story. So did you get radiation for a second time? And good to know that Temador + Avastin for 9 months and Avastin for a few more months is a plan for a cure. Am exploring options for my wife after her recurrence.

    Options
    There are some options. One of my docs thought a vaccine might be a good option if I had a recurrence.
