First time in 24 yrs I forgot our anniversary

Hey everyone !
I can't believe it, but my husband pointed out that this Sunday will be our 24th year together. So much stress, I just started apologizing then crying, then laughing. We will be spending the day at home, with a nice dinner and rent a movie. I just want to hold him....and realize today is good. He is my blessing and my strenghth and I thank God every day for him. Hi Katie,

I know I am on the west coast and it is 3:40 in the afternoon, but how did you forget Sunday when it is still Saturday? The way I see it, you were reminded of it, but you are still early.

    Congratulations on 24 years (remembering).

    Best,

    Matt

    Lol, funny Matt. But, Katie
Lol, funny Matt. But, Katie I hear what you are saying. I congratulate you on your anniversary. My husband feels badly right now and these are lonely days. Enjoy your being with your husband. I have to keep reminding myself all we have is today. Lately all I do is cry. People might call it depression but I call it reality.

    Congrats Katie
Maybe we all need to add special dates to the SUPER THREAD, to help with chemo brain. LOL Im sure you would have remembered in time and sounds like you got a good one.

Well, you remember it now!! :)
...and it's not like you haven't had a LOT on your mind. I think only forgetting once in 24 years is pretty darn good (one time BOTH Greg and I forgot our anniversary...it took a "Happy Day" call from my mom to remind us...LOL).

Happy anniversary to you both...I know you'll make the most of it!

    Hi Katie
All I can say is Amen, nothing better then being at home holding on to your caregiver.

    God Bless

I'm the one that's always been the planner...start shopping 6 months before any special event in the family. Today I gladly relinquish to my hubby and the kids. I guess the fact that at least for this yr. it's outta my hands. And I defineately will enjoy the day ! Katie

    It opened my eyes !
    Phrannie,
Yeah my track record up to this point has been pretty good. It just opened my eyes to what I've been missing with all this cancer crap. LIFE....I need to re-evaluate on how I'm dealing day to day and what is so important to me. Thanks P ! Katie

    Hondo,
Yes....a big AMEN to this one ! I have been pretty darn blessed in my life. I need to keep that with me in the next few months to get me through surgery and just living and giving thanks for what I have right in front of me ! Katie

It does catch you by surprise, when you've been the one who has always been the caregiver and to miss something this important blew my mind. I know in the great scheme of things it's a minor thing....but to me it's just one more thing this darn dx tried to take from me. My own individuality....true eye opener of what can happen if you let yourself get lost. Katie
