Jaw reconstruction at Moffitt or MD Anderson Orlando

no help here
I had mine done in St Louis at Siteman. I recently read that Mayo in Rochester is experimenting with a technique that does not involve using the fibula. Healing of my leg was a huge part of my recovery so, in my opinion, worth investigating. Does Mayo have a satellite in FL.?0 -
I also read about that. Seems like it is experimental and to date only tried in humans that are not a candidate for fibula flap and/or other comorbidities.I actually have been to several florida centers and now have it narrowed to Moffit or MDA Orlando.I am really hoping to hear from some folks who have had jaw reconstruction at either one.hwt said:no help here

Moffitt & MD Anderson - Florida
Welcome Veto.....
I live in Florida, Lakeland actually....
I was STGIII SCC Tonsils and a Lymphnode...HPV+.
I actually had treatment here in Lakeland with the Center for Cancer Care and Research, which is affilliated with Moffit;
Center for Cancer Care & Research
My ENT was excellent, he was the head of my team, MD Jean'.
Onco was every bit as awesome, MD Mulaparthi...
Where are you located in Florida?
BTW, there are a few on here that have went to both places you have mentioned. I can't remember who specifically, but they might pop up and give you some additional information.
Again, welcome...

Thank you and glad you had a great experience! I hope i hear from someone who has had mandible/floor of mouth removed and reconstructed, It's so hard to find any stats on success rates etc.I am located near sarasota, but i will need surgery at one of these major cancer centers, Moffitt or MDA Orlando.0 -

I didn't have the same type of cancer nor surgery but MD Anderson treated me great Dr.Pattani is one of the top surgents there and she is part of my team but i would highly recommend them i also had Dr.Tseng as my oncologists and Dr.Rineer as my radiologists i can't comment on the surgery part but they took great care of me there.0 -
