Can you give us a bit more info pleae.

Is your son-in-law in the USA, if so what state? It may make a difference as to what help is available.

If in the USA has he filed for Social Security Disability?

Is assistance needed to deal with medical needs or for day to day living expenses?

Tell us more and we will try to help.

    Places to call
There is an article which gives some starting points for gaining assistance of various kinds to cancer patients.

    http://www.aacr.org/home/survivors--advocates/information-about-support-groups,-clinical-trials,-financial-help-and-fundraising/how-to-find-financial-aid-and-advice.aspx

    http://www.cancercare.org/

These may help them get started. If funds are not available from one organization they may be able to give them the name of another.

Try: Cancercarecopay.org. They give out grants to help cover medical. I'm not sure about day to day expenses. Go to their website and see if there is any funding for colorectal available. If they don't have funds available presently, perhaps they can send you in the right direction.

American Cancer Society: You can get gasoline cards from them to help with transportation costs.

I am going to assume he has applied for his social security disability if he has paid into the system. If not, he should look into it ASAP because he will be able to collect for himself and dependent children.

Also, go to your state's website and start making some calls. There may be assistance available to the family. Every state is difference. Even if it is just food assistance they can offer every little bit helps. Also, make sure the kids are receiving free lunch (in our district they offer breakfast also). Call the school and they will point you in the right direction.

    Hopefully others will chime in.

    National Comprehensive Cancer Network
Have you looked at the NCCN.com? They have a list of organizations that help people with costs. http://nccn.com/nccn-cancer-resources.html

It may be a good resource.

    Best Always, mike

PS Sending good thoughts and prayers.
