Yesterday I found out about something awesome. Eyelash extensions! This women I went to said she can do them for cancer patients that already lost there lashes they look real and last 6 to 8 weeks. My eye lashes have grown back in but they just make them look fuller and fab, It's just amazing. I wish I knew about them when I was going thru cancer. She said she got into it because a friend of hers went thru breast cancer and she said ok you lose your hair we can get a wig, you lose eyebrows you can pencil then in, but there is nothing to do for eye lashes. So she become certified in eyelash extensions. They are def something to do if you just want to feel good. When I went thru cancer I really didn't wear my wig because its just too hot in FL and my hot flashes where really really bad. But I would do my eyebrows sometimes when I felt up to it. So it's just a good thought for anyone interested and a great beauty tip. All the best ladies

Joyce

    WOW!
My lashes came back soooooo long and gorgeous the first time. Second time, not so much. They are sparse and short. This might be worth checking into just for the fun of it or a special occasion? Thanks for the tip.

    LOVELY LASHES
I too had eyelash extensions but experience was that a minimum of 2mm was required to attach them. They were wonderful. When I had nothing myself unfortunately could not have them until I got some regrowth. With eyebrows I found powder with a stencil to be great with people thinking I had not lost my brows! It gives a very natural look. I am fortunate in that my brows and lashes have now grown back very strongly and my hair thick, curly and grey! I am enjoying running my fingers through it! Thankfully on Doxil it has not been affected.

    TATTOOS
Someone I know does the tattoos, Val. She said she does them for cancer patients all the time. I think I'd be a little too scared to do that one!

    My eyelashes came in full
My eyelashes came in full and beautiful and are slowly falling out again.. Pissed me right off.

Eyebrow tatto - DO NOT DO IT..... My hairdresser has pictures of customers she has that had them done (by different artists) and they look hidieous... I know someone that got them done and she looked wierd after. Since she got them done she wears very long bangs so I don't think she likes them either.

    Thanks
Thanks for the tip. I saw some at the store and was wondering about them. Do they itch or hurt getting put on? I am super sensitive to glues. I worry about that but think they look pretty cool.

I went to a salon specialist
I went to a salon specialist who did them. She puts each lash on individually and it takes about 45 minutes. Afterwards your eyes are watery and red, but that goes away. I have had them for almost a week and sometimes I forget they are there, unitl somebody says how nice they are. :-)

    I thought of doing something
I thought of doing something like this when I loose my lashes. I have had two treatments, but I still have hair. My concern is it ok to do while going through Chemo. I would worry about risk of infection.

I do not believe it would be
I do not believe it would be a cause for concern. The women who got them during chemo was fine

    Eyelash extensions
I didn't lose my lashes until 4th round so had to live with nothing for the next 3 rounds. Some eyeliner helps but not much else you can do! I also used Revitalash all during my chemo which I think helped to keep them strong and used it each night even when I had none so when they grew back they grew strongly. However I had lash extensions done during those first 4 treatments as I had been having them for about a year or more anyway! I had no problem with doing it while on chemo. I went to a reputable salon who were very conscious of hygiene and also told the staff I was having chemo so they knew that if the operator had a cold or some sort of infection I would not be there! Spoil yourself - it is good for the soul!
