Stay safe!
We are upstate NY and not sure what's coming for sure. Last year between Irene & Lee, we were without power for several days. Thankfully, we have a generator and plenty of gas. It's a 3500, so it doesn't run everything at once. We use it for the fridge, freezer, lights and alternate the well and furnace.
We fill a bathtub with water (to use for flushing). We fill jugs, pots and pans with water. We start up the woodstove, I make a few dishes - chili or soup that can last a few days.. Find a few good books, play cards.
How about you? What do you need to prepare? My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

The calm before the storm
Just a dreary morning here, unfortnately, it's not going to stay that way. Strong sustained winds and heavy rains headed this way.
This time last year, we were finishing up our CSN Sisters in Pink weekend in Hershey, where we had a freak snowstorm.
Be safe my friends.
xoxo,

I live in CNY and we are being told to expect high winds (warning issued already for tommorrow afternoon through Tuesday evening) and possible flooding (flood watch). Although we see a small river from the back of our house, we are safe from that; however parts of our town sometimes have flooding issues. Last fall with Irene and Lee, we were just north and west of all the trouble, but we had enough rain to cause some travel issues on the othe side of town. School here was closed only for one day.
We'll see what happens this time around . . . Glad my hair is back and I don't have to be concerned about holding on to my hair OR hat (;
My concern is more for friends closer to the coast, from VA northward.0 -
