I am so sorry, it is a very scary situation. As far as the panic attacks go klonipin really has helped me. Its not ideal to have to be medicated but in my experience anti-anxiety meds are much better than anti-depressants.0 -

Klonipin is very sedating at first(depending on the dose) but most anti-anxiety meds are. I have found that is works better than ativan and has less side affects than xanax(also last longer), but everyone is differant. You should definately discuss your anxiety with your doctor, what we all have to go through is very difficult emotionally. I have a prescription for all three and some days my anxiety is so bad I need all of them.0 -

I know you have a journey ahead of you, but we're here to help. Take one step at a time. Don't look back (creates depression). Don't look ahead (creates anxiety). Just live moment to moment. A good friend from this board used to say that FEAR is False Expectations Appearing Real. In other words, don't anticipate anything that hasn't happened yet, as it surely will create some real anxiety. And Bible Scripture even tells us the same - 'take no thought for tomorrow, for tomorrow has enough worries of its own'. If you do that day by day, then 'tomorrow' always ends up being 'today', and you continue to maintain your hopeful outlook!

Sorry you have to face this journey.
It's nice to meet you, just hate it has to be this way. You will find the ladies on this board to be some of the most caring people you will ever meet. I was diagnosed stage 3c clear cell May, 2011. I had about a 9 month remission, back in chemo. However, I handled the chemo well, and am substitute teaching a few days per week. Please stay off the internet. I nearly made myself crazy by reading stats, etc. It's not a healthy thing to do. There are many women who are living well beyond what the stats say.
Please keep us updated.

I'm curious - how do you know you are 3C if you have not had surgery yet? Did you mean to say chemo date instead of surgery date?
When I was first diagnosed, my doc perscribed Ativan to keep me from losing my mind. They are very small and did the trick of taking the edge off.0 -

When I was diagnosed in September 2010, I could not wait to have the surgery so that they could take out all of the bad stuff. I myself had six rounds of carbo/taxol chemo after my surgery. Please let us know if you have any questions about your upcoming surgery and chemo. You're not alone. We're here to help you in any way we can.

found us Chris. The bloating and lack of appetite are classic symptoms. They will be alleviated by treatment.
We are here for you. I found this board right before my surgery, after I had three rounds of chemo. I was feeling sick and scared and these ladies helped me get through it. When something happens in my life I cannot wait to share with my teal sisters. I know I will get cheers, support or confirmation that I am not going crazy (I hope they're not just being nice).
You will be in my thoughts and prayers as you begin this journey.

Welcome to our group. I also found this site after I was diagnosed 3c in Aug 2010. I had 4 cycles of Carbo and then robotic surgey and then 6 cycles of carbo/taxol. I had a nine month remission and been on chemo ever since. I should be done with chemo in Dec..
It is hard to find people who know how you feel or know much about this cancer at all so this is a good support site. Wishing you the best!
