amoxicillin and diflucan
grrr. since amoxicillin is an open invitation for thrush to move in and party, my ENT gave me a script for diflucan.
so the kid picks up the prescription, and it's one pill. one lousy $4 pill.
what am I supposed to do with that? take it now? or wait until thrush hits?
I hate antibiotics.

Go to the health food store....
and pick up some acidopholis...not in the caps but the pill form, then chew them...they are tasteless...I used this method many years ago when I got thrush during finals. It cured my thrush at that time, and it very well may prevent it, too.

guess I'll just sit on the diflucan until thrush hits.
I'm just amazed that it's one pill.0 -

my doc gave me the liquid Diflucan, enough to carry me thru two weeks...
Ya know, I wonder if the pharmacy read it wrong, or the Dr. wrote it wrong...I'd call the Dr. and ask, what the hell is one pill for??? Is this stuff THAT good?

Sometimes all it takes is the ONE pill!blackswampboy said:thanks, will do

But, I think you have to have the thrush first.

I know that in the past when I have taken certain antibiotics I would develope a yeast infection an my OB/GYN would RX diflucan and it was one tablet. It usually did the trick. However, during rads when I got thrush my onc gave me an RX for diflucan and it was different tablets (not the little card with one tablet) but a bottle of tabs that I took for like 10 or 12 days. Different doses I guess? Anyway, I guess what I'm saying is I think both types work so give it a try. It got to the point in the past where I knew which antibiotics would bother me and I'd just take the diflucan at the start of antibiotics and it would prevent me from having a problem, your RX should say how and when to take it. If not call either your dr or the pharmacy.
Hope this helps.

Hopefully NO THRUSH
BSB,
I hope and pray you don't end up with it. NO FUN ! I will be checking into a few ideas P, and a few others gave me at our local health food store. Good luck, and I pray we can all keep it at bay from now on ! Katie0
