Is anyone watching this. I think it is very close to the real experience. Glad they chose this plot thread.

    Have not seen it
Nor do will I try to. All BC is not the same and a TV show (for money) cannot begin to to show what it is for all. Educating is great BUT partial education on only some types or status can do more harm.

    I've been watching
And I will continue. I think they are doing an excellent job representing how the diagnosis strikes more than just the person diagnosed - as well as showing the emotional ups and downs of diagnosis and treatment. I doubt that the general public is interested in the details and different types of breast cancers. I bet 90% of them didn't even hear "Her-2+", but they heard that the tumor was more aggressive than anticipated and that there was node involvement. What this show is demonstrating so very clearly is that it isn't an easy journey and you never know what's behind the next door. So far, there seems to be no financial/insurance issues, but maybe even that aspect will surface in future episodes.

I hope it will strike a cord with some folks who are naive about what happens to us and our loved ones when we get the news. No, it's not perfect and everyone's journey is different - but this a good representation of what the journey might be like in the Braverman family.

I have 2 episodes on tivo .. I have yet to see
them... I would like to save several, grab a box of Kleenex, popcorn and watch
    them in private.

I am positive that so many of us will relate to some form of Kristina's struggles,
    journey and family related matters.

    HER2 ... wow, I am her2 neu - which means I am her2 positive... Interested in
what therapies -- are given for Christina's breast cancer. Herceptin I hope is
    mentioned.

I've watched Parenthood since it started and was very impressed that they are tackling breast cancer as one of its many story lines. So far it has seemed very realistic in its portrayal of Christina's BC. Although it is bringing back many unpleasant memories, and I've had many tears watching it unfold over the past few weeks. Looking forward to seeing where it leads.

    I like it
I think they're doing a good job at showing what being diagnosed with breast cancer is like. I also think it is good to raise awareness for women to check their breasts and get mammograms.
