I'm a little nervous...
Here is the problem, I have always gotten terrible stagefright speaking in front of a group. Please be with me tomorrow and hold my hand, so I can say what I need to say to inspire others.

You'll be Great
Hi,
I always had terrible stage fright myself until I got cancer. I don't know what it was but I found a voice I never had before. I became an advocate for my children and myself. I'm guessing you know some of these people so try to think of it as just talking to friends. If you don't feel comfortable at a podium ask if you can speak from your seat that may help as well. I'm sure you will do great, you speak so well hear on the boards. You are always very elequent. Just be yourself and remember no one is judging you!
((hugs))

We will all be there with you holding your hand even though you will do fine on your own. I can't wait to hear all about it!!!
You are an inspiration to many.
xoxo,
Jean
and I wish I was there to hear it and cheer you on. I'll be with you in spirit too--and I'm sure the audience will appreciate and benefit from your speech.
Best of luck.

You'll leave them plenty
You'll leave them plenty inspired! Congratulations, you're going to do great!0 -
Speech
Cynthia, you will inspire them just the way you inspire all of us here, with truth from the heart. I have the same problem when I talk to a large crowd. Just pick out a person or two and talk to them like you are talking to friends. Hope this helps. Now, break a leg! (That's stage talk for "good luck".)

Nerves
We are all with you! I was recently asked to speak at a cancer event also and began by first thanking them for hosting the event and giving me a chance to speak. Then I told them that I often get choked up and cry easily, so please be patient. Once I started speaking about the things I knew (my story) it all came easily with no tears. There were other women there recovering from various cancers and many discussed hot flash symptoms so I said something about never knowing what could happen when you have a room full of women who feel like ripping there clothes off, it was corny, but got a good laugh and relaxed me. Good luck to you, your knowledge may just be saving a life!0 -

and you are an amazing, compassionate woman. Just remember you're doing this for a reason bigger than yourself, and, poof, the right words will flow with ease and confidence.
You'll be GREAT!! Now go kick butt:)

You will be great! Just pick a person and pretend they're one of us. And you will inspire the room, just as you do us!
Will be there in spirit,

You are stronger and more capable then you think you are, you will do great, how could you not with all this support and people holding out their hands to you, take a deep breath and let your voice be heard, you go girl!0 -

Words will flow...
You have a wonderful story to tell. As they have said on here, just pick out a couple of people to make eye contact with and words will flow out of you.
Shall be thinking positive thoughts for you and know that you will be great. You are inspiring and so is your journey.

You are so wise and have so
You are so wise and have so much to share...I'm not at all surprised they asked you to speak!! They have the confidence, and we have the confidence, in you. Your story is inspiring...just tell it simply and honestly. Just as you do here.
I can't wait to hear how it goes, and wish I could be there in person.
Hugs,
Linda0
