Had my last Chemo (at least for now) yesterday
Depending on how that goes and what they actually find in my breast post removal I may be finishing the last three weeks of Taxol and/or having some radiation.
Anyway, my surgeon thinks it will all go well.
Hopefully I will be able to get some sleep. Darn steroids have been doing this to me every week! Can't say I will miss these side effects.
Good thoughts and wishes to anyone who stumbles by here. I hope you are having a good day.
Thank you,
Tyler

Tyler .. Hip Hip Hooray!
Chemo .. Chemo -- go away. I've been there, done that! My body had a terrible
time with taxol - lost a few nails, and toenails -- fainted several times
toward the end of my treatments.
Rest, hydrate and continue to take very good care of yourself.
Has you Physician given you any instructions on what to expect from your bilateral?
Limitation? Physical Therapy prescription -- you may need this to help you
with regaining your upper body strength, and movement.
Prayers and Positive thoughts for you!
Strength, Courage and HOPE for a Cure.

Yeah for the end of chemo!!!
Yeah for the end of chemo!!! That is a milestone to celebrate!!!
On the nerves and the sleep...my onc prescribed ativan. I took it the night before my bilateral. It allowed me to sleep in spite of the steroids. And now that you're done with chemo can you taper off them?
Best wishes for the upcoming surgery. I'm sure your surgeon is right...sadly they bet far too much practice with this particular surgery.
Hugs,

I take a sleeping pill so that I can sleep better. I don't take it every night, just every now and then.

Congradulation to you on last chemo
I've had bi-lateral mastectomy, expanders put in, normal 8wk A/C tx.,and into 3rd week of 12 on taxol. I will say that so far the easiest part for me was the mastectomy, drain tubes where the pits but had basically very little pain or discomfort after they came out.
Hope you have the same experience. Be sure and find out ( if you aren't given instruction)
how soon and what kind of gently stretching you can do at home. It does help.
Those steroids do a number on us for sure...Congradulation on finishing your chemo. Get some good sleep.0 -

I had not though about stretching.
I am glad you mentioned that. I will be sure to ask my Dr's.0 -

You might ask your doctor also if seeing a physical therapist would help. Wishing you well and congrats again.

Congrats!!
Bask in the glory of having that behind you! Stay healthy to help with your surgical recovery and try yoga to help with mobility. there are even yoga DVD's specifically for breast cancer recovery.
Good luck and let us all know how you do!
