MAJW - Nancy's obituary
GREENSBORO — Nancy Jane Littlejohn McNally, of Greensboro, NC, touched the face of God on October 16, 2012. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, and cherished friend to countless others.
Nancy was born on January 22, 1951 in Portsmouth, OH. She was the treasured daughter of the late William Kenneth and Mary Edith Littlejohn. Along with her mother, Nancy moved to Cherry Hill, NJ in 1962. It was there, just five short years later as a sixteen year-old girl, that she met the great love of her life, Bert. They were married on July 12, 1969. Together, they have two children, a son, Matthew, and daughter, Jennifer. Nancy said quite frequently throughout her life that her greatest desire was to be a loving wife and mother to her "babies." Without question, she filled those roles as terrifically as has any woman ever. Later, Nancy would enjoy the blessings of grandmotherhood. First came the birth of her granddaughter Madison Grace, and shortly thereafter arrived granddaughter Avery Rebecca. Later, the birth of grandsons Jackson Alexander and Wyatt Henry became the final jewels in her crown.
Throughout her life, Nancy followed the tremendous love that filled her gigantic heart. She gave of herself quite reflexively to those in need, friend and stranger alike. She was, in short, a most remarkable woman in every way. The love and kindness she displayed throughout her life left enriched those fortunate enough to have known her.
Nancy has joined in Heaven her beloved mother and father, her dear brother Billy, and her lovely aunt, Verla.
Nancy is survived by her husband Bert, son Matthew, daughter Jennifer, and her beloved grandchildren. She is also survived by her cherished cousins and numerous sisters- and brothers-in-law. Rest in peace Mommy, and rejoice in the Glory of God.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday morning, October 22, 2012 at Saint Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 11401 Leesville Road Raleigh, NC 27613. Friends may visit with the family following services at the church. A private burial will be held at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Cone Health Cancer Center at Wesley Long Hospital, 501 North Elam Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27403.
A service of Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 405 S. Main St., Wake Forest.

If you go to the Bright Funeral Home site that Jean posted above, there's a lovely color photo of Nancy. I don't think we ever knew what she looked like -- I don't believe she ever posted a photo or anything on her expressions page. It's nice to see her beautiful face.
Nancy and I were diagnosed at around the same time in 2009, and went through treatment together. Over the years, she was always here, always had a laugh or encouragement for me. I feel as though I've lost a friend.

I went to the funeral site to see her photo and i must say she was as beautiful on the outside as she was on the inside. Such a tremendous support on these boards and always willing to share her knowledge. I, too, feel like I have lost a friend!
To her family, I send prayers that the days ahead are filled with the support of family and friends. Your mother/wife was a beautiful woman! She will be missed by many including her "sisters" here!

I read this post with deep sadness. Nancy was one of the beautiful ladies who helped me when I first came on board in 2010. She always was so encouraging and inspiring. She has lost her battle with cancer but she has won victory in the hearts of all who know and love her. May her family be comforted at this sad time.0 -
