How are you now Kay? Anyheart-in-hand said:I didn't get a chance to get on here all day...
wicked day at work. But, after the day the redness is now just in one place instead of over the whole breast...hurts like heck too. I didn't even think about it all day because work was so bad. When I saw the breast surgeon on Tues. he said that the pain was normal and would not go away for months. But it wasn't red or hot then...so I wonder if it is because I was using a hedge trimmer yesterday and overworked those muscles? If it returns to the whole breast I will call him, per your advice dear sisters. I need you!
Thanks,
Kay

Dear Kay,
I hope you called your doctor. It's Sunday and how are you doing? Never a good time for something to activate, just before the weekend. Lesson to be learned...red is not a good sign and do not wait till Monday to call the doctor. Always, always, always call the doctor. It is far better to be safe than sorry.
I speak from experience. Infection started on Wednesday (unknown to me), got better, then got worse. Call doctor's office and spoke to nurse on Friday. Wrong decision there as nurse did not feel that I had an infection. Saturday while taking a shower the infection burst through my skin.
Hope you are okay.
Lots of Hugs,
Janelle
Hoping that you are much better by now.

The redness without an infection could be Red Breast Syndrome. Less than 5% of women get it after breast surgery. And, its so rare that there isn't a finite treatment. Antibiotics are prescribed & the redness goes away on its own, but can take up to six months to dissipate.
