I am in a very depressed stage with being so fatigued. How are others dealing with it?

I am trying a few things:
The anti-depressants the doctor prescribed made me ill, but I am going to give them another try now. Another thing that is really silly that helps to lift that panic attack I am getting all of the time now is to stop and play with my 3 dogs. I get down on the floor with them and make funny noises and we wrestle around and then I chase them around the house/yard and they chase me. Ok, it looks ridiculous and me a gramma and all,but it lifts my spirit a lot. And of course the old advice to take a short walk even if it is for 5 minutes out in the sun, or the moonlight taking deep breaths and being in the moment.
I hope you feel better soon. Sometimes it goes away after a sweet night's sleep so I am hoping you get that tonight!

I was very depressed at the
I was very depressed at the end of active treatment, starting Arimidex. I went through a slew of antidepressants until I hit upon the right one. In the meantime, I went to counseling, tried acupuncture, listened to meditation tapes and began practicing Yoga. All of these things, plus being with friends and time helped me get through. I am no longer depressed (still on medication) and life is good now. It's hard, but keep on keeping on!0 -
start a new hobby
It is easy to think of my limitations since surgery, but I try to also see what I have the time and energy to do now. One of the things that I have developed over the past year is walking, taking the time to do anything for 1/2 hr to an hr each day is a nice rhythm to try to learn something new. I'll try to take my own advice and start playing the ukulele I have sitting here!
Thank you ladies for your solid advice.0 -
Yes I am pretty down too. I
Yes I am pretty down too. I had my surgery wed. and am sore and worrying about the pathology report. I don't have any reason to think it will be bad news, but it is a crap shoot. Hang in there, cancer is huge and can completely throw off your emotions. The shock, fear, and worry between doagnosis and surgery can really wear you down.
Have you seen your path report yet?0 -
