I take Tamoxifen, does not effect my sleep. Husband is the problem. I bought those pink ear plugs. They help block out the snoring.

and have been for years. Along with all these other issues disrupting my sleep, I have been using a Homedics noise machine from Bed, Bath and Beyond for years. I even pack it in my suitcase when I travel. It's a clock radio with noises like ocean, tropical rain forest and rain (my fav). It's on every single night. While I can't say I sleep through the night, it certainly helps me.

I don't fight it anymore
I just don't. I get up when I am awake and sit on the couch just contemplating life. When I feel like it I make a cup of warm milk, and go back to bed if/when I feel sleepy. I had to smile at the part about the cat walking around! What do you have? a lion? it makes that much noise?!!! hahahaha
And when I do try to get back to my warm husband, my three little poms are in my spot, and on the blankets. If I weren't so fond of them I would kick them out, but no, I have to try to wriggle them to the bottom of the bed or over to the side. Night time issues are very complicated in my house!

MY cat is tiny (year old) he runs like mad man at night..up over couch, down hall back to kitchen (I have raised ranch so can make circles through each room) no one else wakes up..then at times scratched...or tried to get food container open..my one daughter's room is down stairs..must sound like and elephant...but she can zzzzzzzz through anything..
I have been up playing words..(LOVE THAT game), do FB, watch TV just never wake up feeling like I have slept. I have energy-I have never required much sleep ever (even as teen) I watch my 5 & 8 yr old grandsons daily..they live with us with their mom..so through them in to the works..getting up at night to use bathroom...I hear that too..I need sound proof room for me..(next house)!

First things first, if hubby hasn't been in for a sleep study, he needs to go in asap. Danny (who is thin) also snored for years. I finally dragged him (kicking and screaming ;-)) to a board certified sleep specialist. Found out that he has severe obstructive sleep apnea. The CPAP that he is on is a lovely white noise and he can't snore. More importantly, he feels so much better. He is now the poster child for CPAP--he won't go anywhere without his. Seriously, sleep apnea greatly increases the risk of heart disease, memory loss and stroke. Hubby needs a sleep study.
Secondly, I became addicted to my Brookstone white noise machine before Danny's snoring was "cured." I love the rain sound, but, whatever you buy, experiment until you find a noise that works for you.
Thirdly, back when my hubby was snoring, I also started using Hearo's ear plugs. I love them too and still use them every night. They do not keep me from hearing the phone or my alarm, but they do muffle harsh noises. I think I am oversensitive to noise. If you try them, buy a few different kinds, because everyone's ear canal is shaped a little differently. Make sure that you get the ones with the highest decibel rating. I like the blue Hearo's.
Many studies are beginning to show that any electronic appliances that emit "blue" light depletes your melanin and disturbs sleep. Try to make sure that there is no blue light (TV, computer, digital clocks, etc) in your bedroom.0
